- 1 Og Herren talte til Moses og Aron og sa til dem:
- 2 Tal til Israels barn og si: Dette er de dyr som I kan ete av alle firføtte dyr på jorden:
- 3 Alle de firføtte dyr som har klover og har klovene kløvd helt igjennem, og som tygger drøv, dem kan I ete.
- 4 Det er bare disse I ikke skal ete blandt dem som tygger drøv, og blandt dem som har klover: kamelen, for den tygger vel drøv, men den har ikke klover, den skal være uren for eder,
- 5 og fjellgrevlingen, for den tygger vel drøv, men har ikke klover, den skal være uren for eder,
- 6 og haren, for den tygger vel drøv, men har ikke klover, den skal være uren for eder,
- 7 og svinet, for det har vel klover og har klovene kløvd helt igjennem, men det tygger ikke drøv, det skal være urent for eder.
- 8 Av disse dyrs kjøtt skal I ikke ete, og ved deres døde kropper skal I ikke røre; de skal være urene for eder.
- 9 Dette kan I ete av alt det som er i vannet: Alt det i vannet - i havene og i elvene - som har finner og skjell, det kan I ete.
- 10 Men det som ikke har finner og skjell av alt det som finnes i havene og i elvene, av alt det som vrimler i vannet, og av alt levende som er i vannet, det skal være en vederstyggelighet for eder.
- 11 En vederstyggelighet skal de være for eder; av deres kjøtt skal I ikke ete, og deres døde kropper skal I holde for en vederstyggelighet.
- 12 Alt i vannet som ikke har finner og skjell, det skal være en vederstyggelighet for eder.
- 13 Dette er de fugler I skal holde for en vederstyggelighet, de skal ikke etes, de er en vederstyggelighet: landørnen og havørnen og fiskeørnen
- 14 og glenten, og falken efter sine arter,
- 15 alle ravner efter sine arter,
- 16 og strutsen og gjøken og måken, og høken efter sine arter,
- 17 og kattuglen og dykkeren og hubroen
- 18 og nattravnen og pelikanen og gribben
- 19 og storken, og heiren efter sine arter, og hærfuglen og flaggermusen.
- 20 Alt kryp som har vinger og går på fire føtter, skal være en vederstyggelighet for eder.
- 21 Av alt kryp som har vinger og går på fire føtter, må I bare ete dem som har springben ovenfor sine føtter til å hoppe på marken med.
- 22 Av dem kan I ete: arbe efter sine arter og solam efter sine arter og hargol efter sine arter og hagab efter sine arter.
- 23 Men alt annet kryp som har vinger og fire føtter, skal være en vederstyggelighet for eder.
- 24 Ved disse dyr blir I urene; enhver som rører ved deres døde kropper, skal være uren til om aftenen,
- 25 og enhver som har båret slik en død kropp, skal tvette sine klær og være uren til om aftenen.
- 26 Ethvert firføtt dyr som vel har klover, men ikke har klovene kløvd helt igjennem og ikke tygger drøv, skal være urent for eder; enhver som rører ved dem, blir uren.
- 27 Og alle firføtte dyr som går på labber, skal være urene for eder; enhver som rører ved deres døde kropper, skal være uren til om aftenen,
- 28 og den som har båret deres døde kropper, skal tvette sine klær og være uren til om aftenen; de skal være urene for eder.
- 29 Og blandt de smådyr som kryper på jorden, skal disse være de ureneste for eder: muldvarpen og musen og alle slags firben,
- 30 og pinnsvinet og jordrotten og padden og sneglen og kameleonen.
- 31 Disse skal være de ureneste for eder blandt alle smådyr; enhver som rører ved dem når de er døde, skal være uren til om aftenen.
- 32 Og alt det som noget av disse dyr faller på når de er døde, blir urent, enten det er et trekar eller klær eller skinn eller sekker, eller hvad redskap det kan være som det gjøres noget arbeid med; det skal legges i vann og være urent til om aftenen; da er det rent.
- 33 Og om noget av dem faller i et lerkar, så blir alt det som er i karet urent, og karet selv skal I slå i stykker;
- 34 all mat som folk eter, og som tillages med vann, blir da uren, og alt drikke som folk drikker, blir urent, hvad kar det enn er i.
- 35 Og alt det som slik en død kropp faller på, blir urent; enten det er ovn eller gryte, skal de brytes i stykker, de er urene og skal være urene for eder.
- 36 Bare kilder og brønner som det samler sig vann i, blir like rene; men den som rører ved deres døde kropper, blir uren.
- 37 Og om slik en død kropp faller på korn som skal såes, er kornet like rent;
- 38 men slåes det vann på såkornet, og en av de døde kropper faller på det, da skal kornet være urent for eder.
- 39 Dør noget av de firføtte dyr som er til føde for eder, da skal den som rører ved dets døde kropp, være uren til om aftenen,
- 40 og den som har ett av dets døde kropp, skal tvette sine klær og være uren til om aftenen; og den som har båret dets døde kropp, skal tvette sine klær og være uren til om aftenen.
- 41 Alle smådyr som kryper på jorden, skal være en vederstyggelighet; de skal ikke etes.
- 42 Hverken det som kryper på buken, eller det som går på fire føtter, eller det som har flere føtter iblandt alle smådyr som kryper på jorden, må I ete; det skal være en vederstyggelighet.
- 43 Gjør ikke eder selv vederstyggelige ved noget sådant kryp, og la eder ikke smitte ved dem, så I blir urene!
- 44 For jeg er Herren eders Gud, og I skal hellige eder, og I skal være hellige, for jeg er hellig; I skal ikke gjøre eder selv urene ved noget av det kryp som rører sig på jorden.
- 45 For jeg er Herren, som førte eder op fra Egyptens land for å være eders Gud, og I skal være hellige, for jeg er hellig.
- 46 Dette er loven om de firføtte dyr og fuglene og alle de liv som rører Sig i vannet, og om alle de dyr som kryper på jorden,

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
