- 1 De holdt sig nu rolige i tre Aar, der var ikke Krig mellem Aram og Israel.
- 2 Og i det tredje Aar drog Kong Josafat af Juda ned til Israels Konge.
- 3 Da sagde Israels Konge til sine Folk: »I ved jo, at Ramot i Gilead hører os til, og dog rører vi os ikke for at tage det fra Arams Konge!«
- 4 Og han sagde til Josafat: »Vil du drage med i Krig mod Ramot i Gilead?« Josafat svarede Israels Konge: »Jeg som du, mit Folk som dit, mine Heste som dine!«
- 5 Josafat sagde fremdeles til Israels Konge: »Spørg dog først om, hvad HERREN siger!«
- 6 Da lod Israels Konge Profeterne kalde sammen, henved 400 Mand, og spurgte dem: »Skal jeg drage i Krig mod Ramot i Gilead, eller skal jeg lade være?« De svarede: »Drag derop, saa skal HERREN give det i Kongens Haand!«
- 7 Men Josafat spurgte: »Er her ikke endnu een af HERRENS Profeter, vi kan spørge?«
- 8 Israels Konge svarede: »Her er endnu en Mand, ved hvem vi kan raadspørge HERREN; men jeg hader ham, fordi han aldrig spaar mig godt, kun ondt; det er Mika, Jimlas Søn.« Men Josafat sagde: »Saaledes maa Kongen ikke tale!«
- 9 Da kaldte Israels Konge paa en Hofmand og sagde: »Hent hurtig Mika, Jimlas Søn!«
- 10 Imidlertid sad Israels Konge og Kong Josafat af Juda, iført deres Skrud, hver paa sin Trone i Samarias Portaabning, og alle Profeterne spaaede foran dem.
- 11 Da lavede Zidkija, Kena'anas Søn, sig Horn af Jern og sagde: »Saa siger HERREN: Med saadanne skal du støde Aramæerne ned, til de er tilintetgjort!«
- 12 Og alle Profeterne spaaede det samme og sagde: »Drag op mod Ramot i Gilead, saa skal Lykken følge dig, og HERREN vil give det i Kongens Haand!«
- 13 Men Budet, der var gaaet efter Mika, sagde til ham: Se, Profeterne har alle som een givet Kongen gunstigt Svar. Tal du nu som de og giv gunstigt Svar!
- 14 Men Mika svarede: »Saa sandt HERREN lever: Hvad HERREN siger mig, det vil jeg tale!«
- 15 Da han kom til Kongen, spurgte denne ham: »Mika, skal vi drage i Krig mod Ramot i Gilead, eller skal vi lade være?« Da svarede han: »Drag derop, saa skal Lykken følge dig, og HERREN vil give det i Kongens Haand!«
- 16 Men Kongen sagde til ham: »Hvor mange Gange skal jeg besvære dig, at du ikke siger mig andet end Sandheden i HERRENS Navn?«
- 17 Da sagde han: Jeg saa hele Israel spredt paa Bjergene som en Hjord uden Hyrde: og HERREN sagde: De Folk har ingen Herre, lad dem vende tilbage i Fred, hver til sit!
- 18 Israels Konge sagde da til Josafat: »Sagde jeg dig ikke, at han aldrig spaar mig godt, kun ondt!«
- 19 Da sagde Mika: »Saa hør da HERRENS Ord! Jeg saa HERREN sidde paa sin Trone og hele Himmelens Hær staa til højre og venstre for ham;
- 20 og HERREN sagde: Hvem vil daare Akab, saa han drager op og falder ved Ramot i Gilead? En sagde nu eet, en anden et andet;
- 21 men saa traadte en Aand frem og stillede sig foran HERREN og sagde: Jeg vil daare ham! HERREN spurgte ham: Hvorledes?
- 22 Han svarede: Jeg vil gaa hen og blive en Løgnens Aand i alle hans Profeters Mund! Da sagde HERREN: Ja, du kan daare ham; gaa hen og gør det!
- 23 Se, saaledes har HERREN lagt en Løgnens Aand i alle disse dine Profeters Mund, thi HERREN har ondt i Sinde imod dig!«
- 24 Da traadte Zidkija, Kena'as Søn, frem og slog Mika paa Kinden og sagde: »Ad hvilken Vej skulde HERRENS Aand have forladt mig for at tale til dig?«
- 25 Men Mika sagde: »Det skal du faa at se, den Dag du flygter fra Kammer til Kammer for at skjule dig!«
- 26 Saa sagde Israels Konge: »Tag Mika og bring ham tilbage til Amon, Byens Øverste, og Kongesønnen Joasj
- 27 og sig: Saaledes siger Kongen: Kast denne Mand i Fængsel og sæt ham paa Trængselsbrød og Trængselsvand, indtil jeg kommer uskadt tilbage!«
- 28 Men Mika sagde: »Kommer du uskadt tilbage, saa har HERREN ikke talet ved mig!« Og han sagde: »Hør, alle I Folkeslag!«
- 29 Saa drog Israels Konge og Kong Josafat af Juda op mod Ramot i Gilead.
- 30 Og Israels Konge sagde til Josafat: »Jeg vil forklæde mig, før jeg drager i Kampen; men tag du dine egne Klæder paa!« Og Israels Konge forklædte sig og drog saa i Kampen.
- 31 Men Arams Konge havde givet sine to og tredive Vognstyrere den Befaling: »I maa ikke angribe nogen, være sig høj eller lav, uden Israels Konge alene!«
- 32 Da nu Vognstyrerne fik Øje paa Josafat, tænkte de: »Det er sikkert Israels Konge!« Og de rettede deres Angreb mod ham. Da gav Josafat sig til at raabe;
- 33 og da Vognstyrerne opdagede, at det ikke var Israels Konge, trak de sig bort fra ham.
- 34 Men en Mand, der skød en Pil af paa Lykke og Fromme, ramte Israels Konge mellem Remmene og Brynjen. Da sagde han til sin Vognstyrer: »Vend og før mig ud af Slaget, thi jeg er saaret!«
- 35 Men Kampen blev haardere og haardere den Dag, og Kongen holdt sig oprejst i sin Vogn over for Aramæerne til Aften, skønt Blodet fra Saaret flød ned i Bunden at Vognen; men om Aftenen døde han.

- 40 Saa lagde Akab sig til Hvile hos sine Fædre; og hans Søn Ahazja blev Konge i hans Sted.
- 41 Josafat, Asas Søn, blev Konge over Juda i Kong Akab af Israels fjerde Regeringsaar.
- 42 Josafat var fem og tredive Aar gammel, da han blev Konge, og han herskede fem og tyve Aar i Jerusalem. Hans Moder hed Azuba og var en Datter af Sjilhi.
- 43 Han vandrede nøje i sin Fader Asas Spor og veg ikke derfra, idet han gjorde, hvad der var ret i HERRENS Øjne.

Danish translation of the Old Testament authorized in 1931 by the Danish King, with the New Testment being the authorized Danish version from 1907.
The NT is based on an entirely new OCR-scanning of an edition with Latin typographic (not Fraktur). The NT has subsequently been thoroughly proof-read and hand-corrected, and footnotes
as well as tables of contents for each chapter have been added.
The OT is based on an OCR-scan from the late 1980s, scanned from a typographically deficient
edition from 1933. OCR-scanning done and proof-read by a Danish pioneering couple with a heart
for media-missions. It was placed on the Internet by Søren Horn in the early 1990s, from
where it was picked up by Projekt Runeberg at Linköping University. Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen picked
up the text in the mid-2000's, and has since then hand-corrected literally thousands of OCR-mistakes
and paragraphing issues.
Both the OT and the NT retain the original orthography.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text.
