- 1 به فرشتۀ کلیسای ساردِس بنویس: «این است سخنان آن کسی که صاحب هفت روح خدا و هفت ستاره است. اعمال تو را می دانم و اگرچه همه می گویند تو زنده هستی، ولی مرده ای.
- 2 بیدار شو و آن چیزهایی را که باقی مانده و نزدیک است از بین برود تقویت کن، زیرا من هیچ یک از کارهایی که پسندیدۀ خداست، در تو نیافته ام.
- 3 پس آنچه را که آموخته و شنیده ای به یاد آور و آن را محکم نگهدار و توبه کن. اگر بیدار نشوی، من مانند دزد بر سر تو خواهم آمد و تو لحظۀ آمدن مرا نخواهی دانست.
- 4 اما چند نفر در ساردِس داری که لباس های خود را نیالوده اند. آنها با لباس سفید با من راه خواهند رفت زیرا مستحق آنند.
- 5 کسی که پیروز شود، به لباس سفید ملبس خواهد شد و نامش را هرگز از کتاب زندگی پاک نخواهم کرد و در پیشگاه پدر خود و فرشتگان، او را از آنِ خود خواهم دانست.

- 6 ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید، بشنوید.»
- 7 به فرشتۀ کلیسای فیلادِلفیا بنویس: «این است سخنان آن قدوس و صادق که کلید داود را به دست دارد. دری را که او باز کند نمی توان بست و هر دری را که او ببندد نمی توان باز کرد.
- 8 من اعمال تو را می دانم و دروازۀ باز پیش روی تو قرار داده ام که هیچ کس نمی تواند آن را ببندد؛ زیرا با اینکه قدرت تو کم است، کلام مرا نگهداشته ای و نام مرا انکار نکرده ای.
- 9 توجه کن! این است کاری که من خواهم کرد: آنانی را که از جماعت شیطان هستند و ادعای یهودیت می کنند، ولی نیستند و دروغ می گویند، خواهم آورد و پیش پای تو خواهم افگند و آنها خواهند دانست که تو محبوب من هستی،
- 10 زیرا مطابق تعالیم من رفتار کردی و نسبت به من وفادار ماندی، من نیز تو را از آزمایش سختی که قرار است بر تمامی دنیا واقع شود و ساکنانش را بیازماید، حفظ خواهم کرد.
- 11 بزودی می آیم، آنچه را داری محکم نگهدار و نگذار کسی تاج تو را بگیرد.
- 12 من کسی را که پیروز گردد، مثل ستونی در عبادتگاه خدای خود ثابت خواهم ساخت، او هرگز از آنجا نخواهد رفت و من نام خدای خود را بر او خواهم نوشت. من نام شهر خدا، یعنی آن اورشلیم نوی را که از آسمان و از جانب خدای من نزول می کند و همچنین نام نو خود را بر او خواهم نوشت.
- 13 ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید، بشنوید.»
- 14 به فرشتۀ کلیسای لائودیکیه بنویس: «این است سخنان «آمین»، آن شاهد امین و راستین و آغاز تمام خلقت خدا.
- 15 من از همۀ اعمال تو آگاه هستم و می دانم که تو نه گرم هستی و نه سرد. ای کاش گرم می بودی و یا سرد.
- 16 اما چون بین این دو، یعنی نه گرم هستی و نه سرد، تو را از دهان خود قی خواهم کرد
- 17 زیرا می گویی: «دولتمند هستم و ثروت جمع کرده ام و محتاج به چیزی نیستم.» در حقیقت، اگرچه این را نمی دانی، با این وجود تو بیچاره و بدبخت و بینوا و کور و عریان هستی.
- 18 به تو نصیحت می کنم، طلایی را که در آتش تصفیه شده از من بخر تا تو را به راستی دولتمند گرداند و لباس سفیدی بخر تا بپوشی و خجلت عریانی خود را بپوشانی و مرحمی بخر و به چشمان خویش بمال تا ببینی.
- 19 همۀ کسانی را که دوست می دارم، سرزنش می کنم و تأدیب می نمایم، پس غیور باش و توبه کن.
- 20 من پشت در ایستاده در را می کوبم، اگر کسی صدای مرا بشنود و در را باز کند داخل می شوم و با او نان خواهم خورد و او نیز با من.
- 21 به آن کسی که پیروز گردد، جایی در روی تخت سلطنت خود خواهم بخشید، همان طور که من پیروز شدم و با پدر بر تخت سلطنت او نشستم.
- 22 ای کسانی که گوش دارید، آنچه را که روح به کلیساها می گوید، بشنوید.»»
