- 1 Då Atalja, mor åt Ahazja, fekk vita at son hennar var dåen, tok ho seg fyre å tyna heile kongsætti.
- 2 Men nett med same kongssønerne skulde lata livet, tok Joseba, dotter åt kong Joram, syster åt Ahazja, fekk taka i Joas Ahazjason og berga honom undan saman med fostermor hans, inn i sengkammerset, og soleis løynde dei honom for Atalja, so han ikkje vart drepen.
- 3 So var han hjå henne i Herrens hus, burtgøymd, i seks år, medan Atalja styrde landet.
- 4 I det sjuande året sende Jojada bod og henta hovudsmennerne for livvakti og førde deim inn til seg i Herrens hus. Og han hadde gjort ein avtale med deim og teke deim i eid der i Herrens hus, synte han deim kongssonen.
- 5 So baud han deim: «Høyr no korleis de skal fara åt: Den eine tridjepart av dykk som tek vakthaldet på kviledagen, skal halda vakt i kongsgarden,
- 6 den andre tridjeparten i Sur-porten, tridje tridjeparten i porten bak drabantarne; de skal greida vakti til vern åt huset.
- 7 Båe dei hine vaktskifti, alle dei av dykk som skulde verta avløyste frå vakt på kviledagen, dei skal halda vakt um kongen i Herrens hus;
- 8 de skal gjera manngard rundt ikring kongen, kvar mann med våpn i hand! kjem nokon innpå rekkjorne, so hogg honom ned! Soleis skal de vera med kongen både når han gjeng ut, og når han gjeng inn.»
- 9 Hovudsmennerne gjorde alt soleis som presten Jojada baud; kvar og ein tok sine folk, både dei som skulde taka ved vakti um kviledagen og dei som skulde ganga frå um kviledagen; dei kom til presten Jojada,
- 10 og presten gav hovudsmennerne dei spjoti og dei skjoldarne som kong David hadde ått, og som var i Herrens hus.
- 11 Livvakti tok post, kvar med våpn i hand, frå sudsida av huset til nordsida av huset, til altaret, og derifrå til huset att, i manngard kring kongen.
- 12 So leidde han kongssonen ut og sette på honom kruna og gav honom lovi. Dei tok honom til konge og salva honom, klappa i henderne og ropa: «Live kongen!»

- 17 Jojada gjorde den pakti millom Herren og kongen og folket, at dei skulde vera Herrens folk. Ogso millom kongen og folket gjorde han semja.
- 18 Alt landsens folk gjekk so av stad burt til Ba’als-huset og reiv det ned, og altari hans og bilæti krasa dei i mol og mask. Mattan, Ba’als-presten, drap dei framfor altari. So sette Jojada vaktmenner ved Herrens hus.
- 19 Deretter tok han med seg hovudsmennerne og livvakti og alt landsens folk, og dei førde kongen frå Herrens hus inn i kongsgarden gjenom livvakt-porten. Han sette seg på kongsstolen,
- 20 og alt folket fegnast; og byen kom til ro. Men Atalja hadde dei hogge i hel i kongsgarden.
- 21 Sju år gamall var Joas då han vart konge.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
