Geremia 22
- 1 Così parla l’Eterno: Scendi nella casa del re di Giuda, e pronunzia quivi questa parola, e di’:
- 2 Ascolta la parola dell’Eterno, o re di Giuda, che siedi sul trono di Davide: tu, i tuoi servitori e il tuo popolo, che entrate per queste porte!
- 3 Così parla l’Eterno: Fate ragione e giustizia, liberate dalla mano dell’oppressore colui al quale è tolto il suo, non fate torto né violenza allo straniero, all’orfano e alla vedova, e non spargete sangue innocente, in questo luogo.
- 4 Poiché, se metterete realmente ad effetto questa parola, dei re assisi sul trono di Davide entreranno per le porte di questa casa, montati su carri e su cavalli: essi, i loro servitori e il loro popolo.
- 5 Ma, se non date ascolto a queste parole, io giuro per me stesso, dice l’Eterno, che questa casa sarà ridotta in una rovina.
- 6 Poiché così parla l’Eterno riguardo alla casa del re di Giuda: Tu eri per me come Galaad, come la vetta del Libano. Ma, certo, io ti ridurrò simile a un deserto, a delle città disabitate.
- 7 Preparo contro di te dei devastatori armati ciascuno delle sue armi; essi abbatteranno i cedri tuoi più belli, e li getteranno nel fuoco.
- 8 Molte nazioni passeranno presso questa città, e ognuno dirà all’altro: "Perché l’Eterno ha egli fatto così a questa grande città?"
- 9 E si risponderà: "Perché hanno abbandonato il patto dell’Eterno, del loro Dio, perché si son prostrati davanti ad altri dèi, e li hanno serviti".
- 10 Non piangete per il morto, non vi affliggete per lui; ma piangete, piangete per colui che se ne va, perché non tornerà più, e non vedrà più il suo paese natìo.
- 11 Poiché così parla l’Eterno, riguardo a Shallum, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, che regnava in luogo di Giosia suo padre, e ch’è uscito da questo luogo: Egli non vi ritornerà più;
- 12 ma morrà nel luogo dove l’hanno menato in cattività, e non vedrà più questo paese.
- 13 Guai a colui ch’edifica la sua casa senza giustizia, e le sue camere senza equità; che fa lavorare il prossimo per nulla, e non gli paga il suo salario;
- 14 e dice: "Mi edificherò una casa grande e delle camere spaziose", e vi fa eseguire delle finestre, la riveste di legno di cedro e la dipinge di rosso!
- 15 Regni tu forse perché hai la passione del cedro? Tuo padre non mangiava egli e non beveva? Ma faceva ciò ch’è retto e giusto, e tutto gli andava bene.
- 16 Egli giudicava la causa del povero e del bisognoso, e tutto gli andava bene. Questo non è egli conoscermi? dice l’Eterno.
- 17 Ma tu non hai occhi né cuore che per la tua cupidigia, per spargere sangue innocente, e per fare oppressione e violenza.
- 18 Perciò, così parla l’Eterno riguardo a Joiakim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda: Non se ne farà cordoglio, dicendo: "Ahimè, fratel mio, ahimè sorella!" Non se ne farà cordoglio, dicendo: "Ahimè, signore, ahimè sua maestà!"
- 19 Sarà sepolto come si seppellisce un asino, trascinato e gettato fuori delle porte di Gerusalemme.
- 20 Sali sul Libano e grida, alza la voce in Basan, e grida dall’Abarim, perché tutti i tuoi amanti sono distrutti.
- 21 Io t’ho parlato al tempo della tua prosperità, ma tu dicevi: "Io non ascolterò". Questo è stato il tuo modo di fare fin dalla tua fanciullezza; tu non hai mai dato ascolto alla mia voce.
- 22 Tutti i tuoi pastori saranno pastura del vento e i tuoi amanti andranno in cattività; allora sarai svergognata, confusa, per tutta la tua malvagità.
- 23 O tu che dimori sul Libano, che t’annidi fra i cedri, come farai pietà quando ti coglieranno i dolori, le doglie pari a quelle d’una donna di parto!
- 24 Com’è vero ch’io vivo, dice l’Eterno, quand’anche Conia, figliuolo di Joiakim, re di Giuda, fosse un sigillo nella mia destra, io ti strapperei di lì.
- 25 Io ti darò in mano di quelli che cercan la tua vita, in mano di quelli de’ quali hai paura, in mano di Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, in mano de’ Caldei.
- 26 E caccerò te e tua madre che t’ha partorito, in un paese straniero dove non siete nati, e quivi morrete.
- 27 Ma quanto al paese al quale brameranno tornare, essi non vi torneranno.
- 28 Questo Conia è egli dunque un vaso spezzato, infranto? E’ egli un oggetto che non fa più alcun piacere? Perché son dunque cacciati, egli e la sua progenie, lanciati in un paese che non conoscono?
- 29 O paese, o paese o paese, ascolta la parola dell’Eterno!
- 30 Così parla l’Eterno: Inscrivete quest’uomo come privo di figliuoli, come un uomo che non prospererà durante i suoi giorni; perché nessuno della sua progenie giungerà a sedersi sul trono di Davide, ed a regnare ancora su Giuda.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
