- 1 Dette var Arons og Moses' ætt på den tid Herren talte med Moses på Sinai berg.
- 2 Navnene på Arons sønner var: Nadab, som var den førstefødte, dernæst Abihu, Eleasar og Itamar.
- 3 Dette var navnene på Arons sønner, de salvede prester, som var innvidd til å gjøre prestetjeneste.

- 8 Og de skal ta vare på alt som hører til sammenkomstens telt, og på det som Israels barn skulde varetatt; og således skal de utføre tjenesten ved tabernaklet.
- 9 Du skal gi levittene til Aron og hans sønner; blandt Israels barn skal de være helt overgitt til ham.
- 10 Men Aron og hans sønner skal du sette til å ta vare på sin prestetjeneste; kommer en fremmed nær til, skal han late livet.
- 11 Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:

- 14 Og Herren talte til Moses i Sinai ørken og sa:
- 15 Du skal mønstre Levis barn efter deres familier og ætter! Alt mannkjønn, fra den som er en måned gammel, og opover, skal du mønstre.
- 16 Så mønstret Moses dem efter Herrens ord, som det var befalt ham.
- 17 Navnene på Levis sønner var: Gerson og Kahat og Merari.
- 18 Og navnene på Gersons sønner efter deres ætter var: Libni og Sime'i.
- 19 Og Kahats sønner efter sine ætter var Amram og Jishar, Hebron og Ussiel.
- 20 Og Meraris sønner efter sine ætter var Mahli og Musi. Dette var Levis ætter med sine familier.
- 21 Til Gerson hørte libnittenes ætt og sime'ittenes ætt; dette var gersonittenes ætter.
- 22 De av dem som blev mønstret, idet der blev tatt tall på alt mannkjønn, fra den som var en måned gammel, og opover, var syv tusen og fem hundre.
- 23 Gersonittenes ætter hadde sin leir bak tabernaklet, mot vest.
- 24 Og høvdingen for gersonittenes familie var Eljasaf, Laels sønn.
- 25 Og det som Gersons barn hadde å ta vare på ved sammenkomstens telt, var selve tabernaklet med dekke og varetak og dekket for inngangen til sammenkomstens telt,

- 32 Men den øverste høvding for levittene var Eleasar, sønn til Aron, presten; han var satt over dem som skulde ta vare på det som var å vareta ved helligdommen.
- 33 Til Merari hørte mahlittenes ætt og musittenes ætt; dette var merarittenes ætter.
- 34 De av dem som blev mønstret, idet der blev tatt tall på alt mannkjønn, fra dén som var en måned gammel, og opover, var seks tusen og to hundre.
- 35 Og høvdingen for Merariættenes familie var Suriel, Abiha'ils sønn; de hadde sin leir ved siden av tabernaklet mot nord.
- 36 Og det som Meraris barn var satt til å ta vare på, var tabernaklets planker og dets tverrstenger og dets stolper og dets fotstykker og alt som hørte til, og alt arbeidet derved
- 37 og stolpene til forgården rundt omkring og fotstykkene og pluggene og snorene som hørte til.
- 38 Men foran tabernaklet, mot øst, foran sammenkomstens telt, mot solens opgang, hadde Moses og Aron og hans sønner sin leir, og de tok vare på det som var å vareta ved helligdommen, det som Israels barn skulde varetatt; men kom en fremmed nær til, skulde han late livet.

- 44 Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:
- 45 Du skal ta levittene i stedet for alle førstefødte blandt Israels barn og levittenes fe i stedet for deres fe; og levittene skal høre mig til, mig, Herren.
- 46 Men som løsepenger for de to hundre og tre og sytti førstefødte av Israels barn som overskrider levittenes tall,
- 47 skal du ta fem sekel for hver; efter helligdommens sekel skal du ta dem, sekelen regnet til tyve gera.
- 48 Og du skal gi Aron og hans sønner disse penger som løsepenger for de overtallige blandt dem.
- 49 Så tok Moses løsepengene for dem som overskred deres tall som blev utløst ved levittene;

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
