- 1 Alors Eliphas Témanite prit la parole, et dit :
- 2 Un homme sage proférera-t-il dans ses réponses une science aussi légère que le vent, des opinions vaines ; et remplira-t-il son ventre du vent d'Orient ;
- 3 Disputant avec des discours qui ne servent de rien, et avec des paroles dont on ne peut tirer aucun profit ?
- 4 Certainement tu abolis la crainte de Dieu, et tu anéantis peu à peu la prière qu'on doit présenter au Dieu Fort.
- 5 Car ta bouche fait connaître ton iniquité, et tu as choisi un langage trompeur.
- 6 C'est ta bouche qui te condamne, et non pas moi ; et tes lèvres témoignent contre toi.
- 7 Es-tu le premier homme né ? ou as-tu été formé avant les montagnes ?
- 8 As-tu été instruit dans le conseil secret de Dieu, et renfermes-tu seul la sagesse ?
- 9 Que sais-tu que nous ne sachions ? quelle connaissance as-tu que nous n'ayons ?
- 10 Il y a aussi parmi nous des hommes à cheveux blancs, et des gens d'une fort grande vieillesse, il y en a même de plus âgés que ton père.
- 11 Les consolations du Dieu Fort te semblent-elles trop petites ? et as-tu quelque chose de caché par-devers toi ?
- 12 Qu'est-ce qui t'ôte le coeur, et pourquoi clignes-tu les yeux ?
- 13 Que tu pousses ton souffle contre le Dieu Fort, et que tu fasses sortir de ta bouche de tels discours ?
- 14 Qu'est-ce que de l'homme mortel, qu'il soit pur, et de celui qui est né de femme, qu'il soit juste ?
- 15 Voici, le Dieu fort ne s'assure point sur ses saints, et les cieux ne se trouvent point purs devant lui ;
- 16 Et combien plus l'homme, qui boit l'iniquité comme l'eau, est-il abominable et impur ?
- 17 Je t'enseignerai, écoute-moi, et je te raconterai ce que j'ai vu ;
- 18 Savoir ce que les sages ont déclaré, et qu'ils n'ont point caché ; ce qu'ils avaient reçu de leurs pères ;
- 19 Eux à qui seuls la terre a été donnée, et parmi lesquels l'étranger n'est point passé.
- 20 Le méchant est comme en travail d'enfant tous les jours de sa vie, et un petit nombre d'années est réservé à l'homme violent.
- 21 Un cri de frayeur est dans ses oreilles ; au milieu de la paix il croit que le destructeur se jette sur lui.
- 22 Il ne croit point pouvoir sortir des ténèbres ; et il est toujours regardé de l'épée.
- 23 Il court après le pain, en disant: où y en a-t-il ? il sait que le jour de ténèbres est tout prêt, et il le touche comme avec la main.
- 24 L'angoisse et l'adversité l'épouvantent, et chacune l'accable, comme un Roi équipé pour le combat.
- 25 Parce qu'il a élevé sa main contre le Dieu Fort, et qu'il s'est roidi contre le Tout-puissant ;
- 26 Il lui sautera au collet, et sur l'épaisseur de ses gros boucliers.
- 27 Parce que la graisse aura couvert son visage, et qu'elle aura fait des replis sur son ventre.
- 28 Et qu'il aura habité dans les villes détruites, et dans des maisons où il ne demeurait plus personne, et qui étaient réduites en monceaux de pierres.
- 29 Mais il n'en sera pas plus riche, car ses biens ne subsisteront point, et leur entassement ne se répandra point sur la terre.
- 30 Il ne pourra point se tirer des ténèbres ; la flamme séchera ses branches encore tendres ; il s'en ira par le souffle de la bouche du Tout-puissant.
- 31 Qu'il ne s'assure donc point sur la vanité par laquelle il a été séduit, car son changement lui sera inutile.
- 32 Ce sera fait de lui avant son temps, ses branches ne reverdiront point.
- 33 On lui ravira son aigret comme à une vigne ; et on lui fera tomber ses boutons comme à un olivier.
- 34 Car la bande des hypocrites sera désolée ; le feu dévorera les tentes de ceux qui reçoivent les présents.
- 35 Ils conçoivent le travail, et ils enfantent le tourment, et machinent dans le coeur des fraudes.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
