- 1 So hende i det tolvte året, den fyrste dagen i tolvte månaden, at Herrens ord kom til meg; han sagde:
- 2 Menneskjeson! Set i med ein syrgjesong yver Farao, egyptarkongen, og seg til honom: Ei ungløva millom folki vilde du vera lik, og so var du som draken i havet, og du for fram i elvarne dine, og grugga upp vatnet med føterne dine og rota upp straumarne.
- 3 So segjer Herren, Herren: Eg vil då breida ut garnet mitt yver deg i ei samling av mange folkeslag, og dei skal draga deg upp med noti mi.
- 4 Eg vil kasta deg upp på land og burt på marki vil eg slengja deg, og eg vil gjeva alle himmelens fuglar tilhelde på deg og lata dyri på heile jordi metta seg med deg.
- 5 Eg vil kasta kjøtet ditt upp på fjelli og fylla dalarne med den store skrotten din.
- 6 Og eg vil vatna landet som du sym i med blodet ditt, heilt upp til fjelli, og bekkjefari skal verta fulle av deg.
- 7 Og når let deg slokna, vil eg breida yver himmelen og klæda hans stjernor i svart, yver soli vil eg breida skyer, og månen skal ikkje skina med sitt skin.
- 8 Alle skinande himmelljos vil eg klæda i svart for di skuld, og eg vil leggja myrker på landet ditt, segjer Herren, Herren.
- 9 Og eg vil lata mange folkeslag gremmast i hjarta, når eg gjer tjonet på deg kunnigt millom folki i land som du ikkje kjenner.
- 10 Eg vil gjera mange folkeslag forfærde yver deg, og deira kongar skal rysja i holdet yver deg, når eg svingar mitt sverd framfor augo deira, og dei skal bivra kvar augneblink, kvar og ein for sitt liv, den dagen du fell.

- 14 Då vil eg lata vatni deira minka og løkjerne deira renna som olje, segjer Herren, Herren,

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
