- 1 ယေဇူးသည် ယောဟန်ထက် ပိုမိုများပြားသော တပည့်များရရှိလျက် ၎င်းတို့အား ဆေးကြောခြင်း ပေးလျက်ရှိသည်ဟူ၍ ဖာရီဇေးဦးတို့ ကြားကြသည်ကို ကိုယ်တော်သိရှိတော်မူသောအခါ၊-
- 2 (အမှန်စင်စစ် ယေဇူးကိုယ်တော်တိုင်ဆေးကြောခြင်းပေးသည်မဟုတ် ဘဲ တပည့်တော်များကသာလျှင် ဆေးကြောခြင်းကို ပေးခြင်းဖြစ်၏၊)-
- 3 ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဂျူဒေးယနယ်မှ ထွက်ခွာ၍ ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သို့ တစ်ဖန်ကြွသွားတော်မူ၏။-
- 4 ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဆမာရိယပြည်ကို ဖြတ်သွားရသဖြင့်၊-
- 5 ယာကုပ်က မိမိ၏သား ဂျိုးဇက်အား ပေးခဲ့သော မြေကွက်အနီးရှိ ဆီခါအမည်ရှိသော ဆမာရိယမြို့တစ်မြို့သို့ရောက် တော်မူ၏။-
- 6 ထိုနေရာ၌ ယာကုပ်၏ရေတွင်းရှိ၏။ ယေဇူးသည်လည်း ခရီးပန်းလာသောကြောင့် ထိုရေတွင်း၏ ဘေးတွင် ထိုင်တော်မူ၏။ ထိုအချိန်ကား မွန်းတည့်ချိန် ခန့်ဖြစ်၏။
- 7 ဆမာရိယအမျိုးသမီးတစ်ဦးသည် ရေခပ်ရန် လာသောအခါ ယေဇူးက ငါ့အား သောက်ရန်ရေပေးပါဟု သူမကို မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 8 အကြောင်းမူကား ကိုယ်တော်၏ တပည့်တော်တို့သည် စားစရာဝယ်အံ့သောငှာ မြို့ထဲသို့ သွားနေကြသောကြောင့်ဖြစ်၏။-
- 9 ဆမာရိယအမျိုးသမီးကလည်း ဂျူးလူမျိုးတစ်ဦးဖြစ်သော သင်သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဆမာရိယအမျိုးသမီးတစ်ဦးဖြစ်သော ကျွန်မထံမှ သောက်ရေကို တောင်းပါသနည်းဟု ကိုယ်တော်အား ပြောလေ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား ဂျူးလူမျိုးတို့သည် ဆမာရိ ယလူမျိုးတို့နှင့် ဆက်ဆံခြင်းလုံး၀ မပြုကြသောကြောင့်တည်း။-
- 10 ယေဇူးက သင်သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဆုကျေးဇူးတော်ကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ ငါ့အား သောက်ရန်ရေပေးပါဟု သင့်ကိုပြောဆိုသောသူသည် မည်သူဖြစ်ကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း သိခဲ့ပါလျှင် သူ့ထံမှ သင်တောင်းခံ၍ သူသည်လည်း သင့်အား အသက်ရေကိုပေးလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 11 အမျိုးသမီးကလည်း သခင်၊ သင်၌ ရေခပ်စရာလည်းမပါ။ ရေတွင်းသည်လည်း နက်ပါ၏။ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် သင်သည် အသက်ရေကို မည်သည့်နေရာမှ ရနိုင်ပါမည် နည်း။-
- 12 သင်သည် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏အဖ ယာကုပ်ထက် ကြီးမြတ်ပါသလော။ သူသည် ဤရေတွင်းကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အား ပေးခဲ့၍ သူကိုယ်တိုင်နှင့် သူ၏သားသမီးများ၊ တိရစ္ဆာန်များသည် ဤရေတွင်းမှ ရေကိုသောက်ခဲ့ကြပါပြီဟု ကိုယ်တော်အား ပြန်ပြောလေ၏။-
- 13 ယေဇူးကလည်း ဤရေကိုသောက်သောသူသည် နောက်တစ်ဖန်ရေငတ် လိမ့်ဦးမည်။-
- 14 ငါပေးမည့်ရေကို သောက်သောသူသည်ကား မည်သည့်အခါမျှ ရေငတ်လိမ့်မည်မဟုတ်။ ငါပေးမည့်ရေသည် ထိုသူ၌ ထာ၀ရအသက်ရှင်ခြင်းအဖို့ စီးထွက်လာသော စမ်းရေဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု သူမအား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 15 အမျိုးသမီးကလည်း သခင်၊ ကျွန်မသည် ရေမငတ်စေရန်နှင့် ဤနေရာသို့ ရေလာမခပ်ရစေရန် ကျွန်မအား ထိုရေကို ပေးတော်မူပါဟု တောင်းလျှောက်လေ၏။
- 16 ယေဇူးကလည်း သွားလော့။ သင်၏ခင်ပွန်းကို ခေါ်၍ ဤနေရာသို့ပြန်လာလော့ဟု သူမအား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 17 အမျိုးသမီးကလည်း ကျွန်မ၌ခင်ပွန်းမရှိပါဟု ပြန်လျှောက်လျှင် ယေဇူးက ခင်ပွန်းမရှိပါဟု သင်ဆိုသောစကားသည် မှန်၏။-
- 18 အကြောင်းမူကား သင်၌ခင်ပွန်း ငါးယောက်ရှိခဲ့လေပြီ။ ယခုသင်နှင့် နေသောသူသည်လည်း သင်၏ခင်ပွန်း မဟုတ်သောကြောင့် သင်ပြောသော ဤစကားသည်မှန်ပေသည်ဟု သူမအား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 19 အမျိုးသမီးက သခင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ပရောဖက်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ကျွန်မသိပါပြီ။-
- 20 အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ ဘိုးဘေးတို့သည် ဤတောင်ပေါ်၌ ဝတ်ပြုကိုးကွယ်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ သို့သော် သင်တို့ဂျူးလူမျိုးများက ဂျေရုဆလင်မြို့သည်သာ ဘုရားသခင်ကို ဝတ်ပြုကိုးကွယ်ရာနေရာဖြစ်သည်ဟူ၍ ဆိုကြပါ၏ဟုလျှောက်လေ၏။-
- 21 ယေဇူးက အချင်းအမျိုးသမီး၊ ငါ့ကိုယုံကြည်လော့။ ခမည်းတော်ကို ဤတောင်ပေါ်၌လည်းမဟုတ်၊ ဂျေရုဆလင်မြို့၌လည်း မဟုတ်ဘဲ သင်တို့ ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုကြရမည့် အချိန်ကာလ ရောက်လာလိမ့်မည်။-
- 22 သင်တို့သည် ကိုယ်မသိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုကြ၏။ ငါတို့သည် ကိုယ်သိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုကြ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား ကယ်တင်ခြင်းသည် ဂျူးလူမျိုးများအားဖြင့် ရောက်လာ၏။-
- 23 သို့သော် ဟုတ်မှန်စွာ ကိုးကွယ်သူတို့သည် ခမည်းတော်ကို ဝိညာဉ်အားဖြင့်လည်းကောင်း၊ သမ္မာတရားအားဖြင့် လည်းကောင်း ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုရမည့်အချိန်ကာလ ယခုပင်ရောက်လာလေပြီ။ အကြောင်းမူကား ခမည်းတော်သည် မိမိအား ဤသို့ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုသောသူများကို အလိုရှိတော်မူ၏။-
- 24 ဘုရားသခင်သည် ဝိညာဉ်တော်ဖြစ်တော်မူ၍ ကိုယ်တော့်ကို ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုသောသူတို့သည်လည်း ဝိညာဉ်အားဖြင့် လည်းကောင်း၊ သမ္မာတရားအားဖြင့်လည်းကောင်း ကိုးကွယ်ဝတ်ပြုရမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 25 ထိုအမျိုးသမီးကလည်း ခရစ်တော်ဟုခေါ်သော မေဆိယကြွလာမည်ကို ကျွန်မသိပါ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်ကြွလာတော် မူသောအခါ အရာခပ်သိမ်းတို့ကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အား ဖော်ပြတော်မူလိမ့်မည်ဟု ကိုယ်တော်အား လျှောက်လေ၏။-
- 26 ယေဇူးကလည်း သင်နှင့် စကားပြောနေသောငါသည် ထိုသူပေတည်းဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
- 27 ထိုအချိန်တွင်ပင် တပည့်တော်တို့ ပြန်ရောက်လာကြ၍ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဆမာရိယအမျိုးသမီးနှင့် စကားပြောဆို နေသည်ကို အံ့ဩလျက်ရှိကြ၏။ သို့သော် မည်သူကမျှ ကိုယ်တော်မည်သည့်အရာကို အလိုရှိတော်မူသနည်း၊ သူမနှင့် အဘယ်အကြောင်းအရာကိုပြောဆိုနေ တော်မူသနည်းဟူ၍ မမေးကြချေ။-
- 28 ထိုအမျိုးသမီးသည်လည်း မိမိ၏ရေအိုးကိုထားခဲ့၍ မြို့တွင်းသို့သွားပြီးလျှင် လူတို့အား၊-
- 29 ကျွန်မပြုခဲ့သမျှသော အမှုအရာတို့ကို ကျွန်မအား ပြန်လည်ပြောပြသောသူကို လာ၍ကြည့်ကြလော့။ ဤသူသည် ခရစ်တော်ပင် ဖြစ်မည်လောဟုဆိုလျှင်၊-
- 30 သူတို့သည် မြို့တွင်းမှထွက်လာကြ၍ အထံတော်သို့လာကြ၏။
- 31 ထိုအချိန်၌ တပည့်တော်တို့က ရာဘီ၊ အစားအစာ သုံးဆောင်တော်မူပါဟု လျှောက်ကြ၏။-
- 32 သို့သော် ကိုယ်တော်က ငါ၌သင်တို့မသိသော အစားအစာရှိ၏ဟု သူတို့အား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 33 တပည့်တော်တို့ကလည်း တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်သည် ကိုယ်တော့်အတွက် စားစရာပို့ထားပြီလောဟု အချင်းချင်း မေးမြန်းကြ၏။-
- 34 ယေဇူးက ငါ့ကို စေလွှတ်တော်မူသော အရှင်၏အလိုတော်ကို ဆောင်ရွက်ခြင်းနှင့် ထိုအရှင်၏ အမှုတော်ကို ပြီးမြောက်စေခြင်းသည် ငါ၏အစာပင်ဖြစ်သတည်း။-
- 35 ယခုအချိန်မှစ၍ လေးလလွန်မှသာ စပါးရိတ်သိမ်းချိန်ရောက်လိမ့်မည်ဟု သင်တို့ဆိုကြသည်မဟုတ်လော။ သင်တို့အား ငါဆိုသည်ကား စပါးရိတ်သိမ်းရန်အတွက် လယ်ကွင်းများသည် ယခုပင် ဝင်းမှည့်နေသည်ကို သင်တို့လှမ်းမျှော်၍ ကြည့်ကြလော့။-
- 36 စပါးရိတ်သောသူသည် လုပ်အားခကို ရရှိ၍ ထာ၀ရအသက်အဖို့ အသီးအနှံကိုစုသိမ်းလေ၏။ သို့မှသာ မျိုးကြဲသောသူနှင့် စပါးရိတ်သော သူတို့သည် အတူတကွ ဝမ်းမြောက်နိုင်ကြမည်ဖြစ်၏။-
- 37 အကြောင်းမူကား တစ်ဦးက မျိုးစေ့ကြဲ၍ အခြားတစ်ဦးက ရိတ်သိမ်း၏ ဟူသောဆိုရိုးစကားသည် ဤနေရာ၌ မှန်ကန်သင့်မြတ်ပေ၏။-
- 38 သင်တို့ မလုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ရသော အရပ်၌ ရိတ်သိမ်းစေခြင်းငှာ သင်တို့ကို ငါစေလွှတ်၏။ အခြားသောသူတို့သည် လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ကြပြီး သင်တို့သည် သူတို့၏အလုပ်တွင် ပါဝင်ကြရလေပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
- 39 သူသည် ကျွန်မပြုခဲ့သမျှ အရာတို့ကို ကျွန်မအား ပြန်လည်ပြောပြခဲ့သည်ဟု သက်သေခံသောအမျိုးသမီး၏ စကားကြောင့် ထိုမြို့မှ ဆမာရိယလူမျိုး များစွာတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော့်ကို ယုံကြည်ကြ၏။-
- 40 ထို့ကြောင့် ဆမာရိယလူမျိုးတို့သည် အထံတော်သို့ရောက်လာကြသောအခါ မိမိတို့နှင့်အတူ ခေတ္တနေတော်မူပါ မည့်အကြောင်း ကိုယ်တော့်ကို တောင်းပန်ကြ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်သည်လည်း ထိုအရပ်၌ နှစ်ရက်နေတော်မူ၏။-
- 41 ကိုယ်တော်၏ နှုတ်တော်ထွက်စကားကြောင့် ပိုမိုများပြားသောသူတို့သည်လည်း ကိုယ်တော့်ကို ယုံကြည်လာ ကြသည်ဖြစ်၍၊-
- 42 သူတို့က အမျိုးသမီးအား ယခုငါတို့သည် သင်၏စကားကြောင့် ယုံကြည်ကြခြင်းမဟုတ်တော့ပေ။ အကြောင်းမူကား ငါတို့ ကိုယ်တိုင်ကြားနာကြရပြီဖြစ်၍ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဤလောက၏ ကယ်တင်ရှင် အမှန်စင်စစ် ဖြစ်တော်မူကြောင်း ငါတို့ သိကြလေပြီဟု ဆိုကြ၏။
- 43 နှစ်ရက်လွန်သောအခါ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သို့ကြွတော်မူ၏။-
- 44 အကြောင်းမူကား ပရောဖက်ဟူသည် မိမိ၏ဇာတိမြေ၌ ဂုဏ်သတင်းကျော်စောခြင်းမရှိဟူ၍ ယေဇူးကိုယ်တော်တိုင် သက်သေခံတော်မူခဲ့ဖူး၏။-
- 45 သို့ဖြစ်၍ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူသောအခါ ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သားတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော့်ကိုကြိုဆိုကြ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား သူတို့သည်လည်း ပွဲတော်သို့သွားကြသည်ဖြစ်၍ ပွဲတော်နေ့၌ ဂျေရုဆလင်မြို့တွင် ကိုယ်တော်ပြုတော်မူခဲ့သမျှတို့ကို တွေ့ မြင်ခဲ့ကြပြီးဖြစ်သောကြောင့်တည်း။
- 46 ကိုယ်တော်သည် ရေကိုစပျစ်ရည်အဖြစ်ပြောင်းလဲခဲ့သော အရပ်ဖြစ်သည့် ဂါလေလေးယနယ်၊ ကာနာမြို့သို့ တစ်ဖန်ကြွလာတော်မူ၏။ ကာဖာနာအုမ်မြို့၌ အမတ်တစ်ဦးရှိ၍ သူ၏သားသည် ဖျားနာလျက်ရှိ၏။-
- 47 ဂျူဒေးယနယ်မှ ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သို့ ယေဇူးကြွလာတော်မူကြောင်းကို ထိုအမတ်ကြားသော် ကိုယ်တော့်ထံသွား၍ ကိုယ်တော်ကြွလာပြီး မိမိသားကို ပျောက်ကင်းချမ်းသာစေမည့်အကြောင်း တောင်းပန်လေ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား လူနာသည် သေအံ့ဆဲဆဲဖြစ်နေသောကြောင့်တည်း။-
- 48 ယေဇူးက သင်တို့သည် နိမိတ်လက္ခဏာများနှင့် အံ့ဖွယ်ရာများကို မမြင်ရလျှင် ယုံကြည်ကြလိမ့်မည်မဟုတ်ဟု သူ့အား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
- 49 အမတ်ကလည်း သခင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်၏သား မသေမီကြွလာတော်မူပါဟု ကိုယ်တော်အား လျှောက်လေ၏။-
- 50 ယေဇူးက သွားလော့၊ သင်၏သား အသက်ချမ်းသာ ရလိမ့်မည်ဟု သူ့အား မိန့်တော်မူလျှင် သူသည် မိမိအား ကိုယ်တော် မိန့်တော်မူသော စကားကို ယုံကြည် လျက် ပြန်သွားလေ၏။-
- 51 သူသည် ပြန်သွားစဉ်တွင် သူ၏အစေခံများနှင့် ဆုံမိရာ ထိုသူတို့က သူ၏သားအသက် ချမ်းသာရာရကြောင်းကို သူ့အား ပြောကြားကြ၏။-
- 52 သူက မိမိသား ပျောက်ကင်းချမ်းသာရသည့် အချိန်နာရီကို မေးမြန်းသောအခါ သူတို့က ယမန်နေ့ မွန်းလွဲတစ်နာရီ အချိန်တွင် အဖျားပျောက်ကင်းသည်ဟု ပြန်ဖြေကြ၏။-
- 53 ဖခင်ဖြစ်သူသည်လည်း ဤအချိန်နာရီသည် ယေဇူးက မိမိအား သင်၏သားအသက်ချမ်းသာရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့် တော်မူခဲ့သောအချိန် ဖြစ်ကြောင်းသိသဖြင့် သူကိုယ်တိုင်နှင့် သူ၏အိမ်သူအိမ်သားအားလုံးတို့သည် ယုံကြည်ကြလေ၏။-
- 54 ဤနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာသည်ကား ဂျူဒေးယနယ်မှ ဂါလေလေးယနယ်သို့ ယေဇူးကြွတော်မူရာတွင် ဒုတိယအကြိမ် ပြတော်မူသော တန်ခိုးနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာဖြစ်သတည်း။
