- 1 Men der han havde fuldendt al sin Tale i Folkets Paahør, gik han ind i Capernaum.
- 2 Men en Høvedsmands Tjener, som denne holdt meget af, var syg og nær ved at døe.
- 3 Men der han hørte om Jesus, sendte han nogle af Jødernes Ældste til ham, at han vilde komme og helbrede hans Tjener.
- 4 Men der de kom til Jesus, bade de ham flitteligen og sagde: han er vel værd, at du gjør ham dette;
- 5 thi han elsker vort Folk og haver bygget os vor Synagoge.
- 6 Da gik Jesus med dem; men der han nu ikke var langt fra Huset, sendte Høvedsmanden nogle af sine Venner til ham, og lod ham sige: Herre! umag dig ikke; thi jeg er ikke værd, at du gaaer ind under mit Tag.
- 7 Derfor agtede jeg heller ikke mig selv værdig at komme til dig; men siig det med et Ord, da bliver min Dreng helbredet.
- 8 Thi jeg er og et Menneske, Øvrigheden undergiven, som haver Stridsmænd under mig; og siger jeg til denne: gak! saa gaaer han; og til den anden; kom! saa kommer han; og til min Tjener: gjør det! saa gjør han det.
- 9 Men der Jesus hørte det, forundrede han sig over ham; og han vendte sig om og sagde til Folket, som ham fulgte: jeg siger Eder, saa stor en Tro haver jeg end ikke fundet i Israel.
- 10 Og der de, som vare udsendte kom tilbage til Huset, fandt de den syge Tjener karsk.
- 11 Og det begav sig Dagen derefter, at han gik til en Stad, som hedte Nain, og der gik mange af hans Disciple med ham og meget Folk.
- 12 Men der han kom nær til Stadens Port, see, da blev en Død udbaaren, som var sin Moders eenbaarne Søn, og hun var en Enke; og meget Folk af Staden gik med hende.
- 13 Og der Herren saae hende, ynkedes han inderligen over hende og sagde til hende: græd ikke.
- 14 Og han traadte til og rørte ved Baaren, (men de, som bare, stode stille), og han sagde: du unge Karl, jeg siger dig, staae op!
- 15 Og den Døde reiste sig op, og begyndte at tale; og han gav hans Moder ham.
- 16 Men en Frygt betog Alle, og de prisede Gud og sagde: der er en stor Prophet opreist iblandt os, og Gud haver besøgt sit Folk.
- 17 Og denne Tale om ham kom ud i det ganske Judæa og i alt det omkringliggende Land.
- 18 Og Johannes’ Disciple forkyndte ham om alt dette. Og Johannes kaldte to af sine Disciple til sig,
- 19 og sendte dem til Jesus, og lod sige: er du den, som kommer, eller skulle vi vente en Anden?
- 20 Men der disse Mænd kom til ham, sagde de: Johannes den Døber haver sendt os til dig, og lader sige: er du den, som kommer, eller skulle vi vente en Anden?
- 21 Men i den samme Time helbredte han Mange fra Sygdomme og Plager og onde Aander, og skjenkte mange Blinde Synet.
- 22 Og Jesus svarede og sagde til dem: gaaer bort, og forkynder Johannes, hvad I have seet og hørt: Blinde see, Halte gaae, Spedalske renses, Døve høre, Døde staae op, Evangelium prædikes for de Fattige;
- 23 og salig er den, som ikke forarges paa mig.
- 24 Men der Johannes’ Bud gik bort, begyndte han at tale til Folket om Johannes: hvad ere I udgangne i Ørken at see? et Rør, som bevæges af Veiret?
- 25 Eller hvad ere I udgangne at see? et Menneske, iført bløde Klæder? See, de, som leve i herlige Klæder og i Vellyst, ere i Kongers Gaarde.
- 26 Eller hvad ere I udgangne at see? en Prophet? Ja, jeg siger Eder, mere end en Prophet.
- 27 Han er den, om hvem der er skrevet: see, jeg sender min Engel for dit Ansigt; han skal berede din Vei for dig.
- 28 Thi jeg siger Eder: iblandt dem, som ere fødte af Kvinder, er ingen større Prophet end Johannes den Døber; men den Mindste i Guds Rige er større end han.
- 29 Og alt Folket, som han hørte, endog Tolderne, gave Gud Æren, og bleve døbte med Johannes’ Daab.

30 Men Pharisæerne og de Lovkyndige foragtede Guds Raad med dem, og bleve ikke døbte af ham.
People, sinners believed God and were baptized. But those who rejected God's counsel (take note not John's counsel) did not get baptized. - 31 Men Herren sagde: hvem skal jeg derfor ligne denne Slægts Mennesker ved? og hvem ere de lige?
- 32 De ere de smaa Børn lige, som sidde paa Torvet og raabe til hverandre og sige: vi fløitede for Eder, og I vilde ikke danse, vi sang klageligen for Eder, og I vilde ikke græde.
- 33 Thi Johannes den Døber kom, og hverken aad Brød, ei heller drak Viin, og I sige: han haver Djævelen.
- 34 Menneskens Søn er kommen, æder og drikker, og I sige: see, en Fraadser og en Viindranker, Tolderes og Synderes Ven!
- 35 Dog Viisdommen er retfærdiggjort af alle sine Børn.
- 36 Men En af Pharisæerne bad ham, at han vilde æde med ham; og han gik ind i Pharisæerens Huus, og sad tilbords.
- 37 Og see, der var en Kvinde i Staden, som var en Synderinde; der hun fornam, at han sad tilbords i Pharisæerens Huus, hentede hun en Alabaster-Krukke med Salve;
- 38 og hun stod bagved hos hans Fødder, græd og begyndte at væde hans Fødder med Taarer, og aftørrede dem med sit Hovedhaar, og kyssede hans Fødder, og salvede dem med Salve.
- 39 Men der Pharisæeren, som havde budet ham, saae det, talede han ved sig selv og sagde: dersom denne var en Prophet, vidste han jo, hvo og hvordan en Kvinde denne er, som rører ved ham; thi hun er en Synderinde.
- 40 Og Jesus svarede og sagde til ham: Simon! jeg haver Noget at sige dig. Men han sagde: Mester! siig frem.
- 41 Jesus sagde: en Mand, som udlaante Penge, havde to Skyldnere; den ene var ham fem hundrede Penninge skyldig, men den anden halvtredsindstyve.
- 42 Men der de havde ikke at betale med, gav han dem begge det efter. Siig: hvilken af dem skal derfor elske ham meest?
- 43 Men Simon svarede og sagde: jeg holder for, den, som han eftergav meest. Men han sagde til ham: du dømte ret.
- 44 Og han vendte sig til Kvinden, og sagde til Simon: seer du denne Kvinde? Jeg kom ind i dit Huus; du haver ikke givet mig Vand til mine Fødder; men denne vædede mine Fødder med Graad, og tørrede dem af med sit Hovedhaar.
- 45 Du gav mig intet Kys; men denne aflod ikke, fra hun kom ind, at kysse mine Fødder.
- 46 Du salvede ikke mit Hoved med Olie; men hun salvede mine Fødder med Salve.
- 47 Derfor siger jeg dig, ere hendes mange Synder hende forladne; thi hun elskede meget; men hvem Lidet forlades, elsker lidet.
- 48 Men han sagde til hende: dine Synder ere forladne!
- 49 Da begyndte de, som sadde tilbords med ham, at sige ved sig selv: hvo er denne, som endog forlader Synder?
- 50 Men han sagde til Kvinden: din Tro haver frelst dig, gak bort med Fred.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
