Genesis 22
- 1 مدتی بعد خدا ابراهیم را امتحان کرد و به او فرمود: «ابراهیم.» ابراهیم جواب داد: «بلی، خداوندا.»
- 2 خدا فرمود: «پسر عزیزت اسحاق را که خیلی دوست می داری، بردار و به سرزمین موریا برو، آنجا او را بر سر کوهی که به تو نشان می دهم برای من قربانی کن.»
- 3 روز بعد، ابراهیم صبح وقت برخاست. مقداری هیزم برای قربانی تهیه نمود و آن را بر سر خر بار کرد. اسحاق و دو نفر از نوکران خود را برداشت و به طرف جائی که خدا به او فرموده بود، براه افتاد.
- 4 روز سوم، ابراهیم آن محل را از فاصلۀ دور دید.
- 5 به نوکران خود گفت: «شما اینجا پیش خر بمانید. من و پسرم به آنجا می رویم تا عبادت کنیم. بعداً پیش شما بر می گردیم.»
- 6 ابراهیم هیزم ها را بر دوش اسحاق گذاشت و خودش کارد و آتش برای روشن کردن هیزم برداشت و برای قربانی سوختنی با هم به راه افتادند.
- 7 اسحاق گفت: «پدر.» ابراهیم جواب داد: «بلی پسرم؟» اسحاق پرسید: «می بینم که تو آتش و هیزم داری، پس برۀ قربانی کجا است؟»
- 8 ابراهیم جواب داد: «خدا خودش آنرا آماده می کند.» هر دوی آن ها با هم رفتند.
- 9 وقتی آن ها به جائی رسیدند که خدا فرموده بود، ابراهیم یک قربانگاه درست کرد و هیزم ها را روی آن گذاشت. پسر خود را بست و او را بر قربانگاه، روی هیزم ها قرار داد.
- 10 سپس کارد را به دست گرفت تا او را قربانی کند.
- 11 اما فرشتۀ خداوند از آسمان او را صدا کرد و گفت: «ابراهیم، ابراهیم.» او جواب داد: «بلی، خداوندا.»
- 12 فرشته گفت: «به پسر خود صدمه نرسان و هیچ کاری با او نکن. من حالا فهمیدم که تو از خدا اطاعت می کنی و به او احترام می گذاری. زیرا تو پسر عزیز خود را از او دریغ نکردی.»
- 13 ابراهیم به طرف صدا نگاه کرد. قوچی را دید که شاخ هایش به درختی گیر کرده است. رفت و آنرا گرفت و به عنوان قربانی سوختنی به جای پسر خود قربانی کرد.
- 14 ابراهیم آنجا را «خداوند آماده می کند» نامید و حتی امروز هم مردم می گویند: «بر سر کوهها خداوند آماده می کند.»
- 15 فرشتۀ خداوند برای بار دوم از آسمان ابراهیم را صدا کرد
- 16 و گفت: «خداوند می گوید: من به تو وعده می دهم و به اسم خودم قسم می خورم که تو را به فراوانی برکت بدهم. زیرا تو این کار را کردی و پسر عزیز خود را از من دریغ نکردی.
- 17 من وعده می دهم که نسل تو را مانند ستارگان آسمان و ریگ های ساحل بحر زیاد کنم. اولادۀ تو بر دشمنان خود پیروز می شوند.
- 18 تمام ملت ها از من خواهند خواست همان طوری که نسل تو را برکت داده ام نسل آن ها را هم برکت دهم. فقط به خاطر اینکه تو از من اطاعت کردی.»
- 19 ابراهیم پیش نوکران خود برگشت و آن ها با هم به بئرشِبع رفتند و ابراهیم در آنجا اقامت گزید.
- 20 بعد از مدتی برای ابراهیم خبر دادند که مِلکه، زن ناحور برادر ابراهیم هشت پسر بدنیا آورده است:
- 21 آن ها عبارت بودند از: عوز پسر اولباری و برادرش بوز و کموئیل پدر ارام،
- 22 کاسد، حزو، پیلداش، یدلاف و بِتوئیل.
- 23 بِتوئیل پدر ربکا است. مِلکه این هشت پسر را برای ناحور برادر ابراهیم بدنیا آورد.
- 24 رئومه زن صورتی ناحور نیز طابح، جاحم، تاحش و معکه را به دنیا آورد.
