Romans 10
- 1 ای برادران، آرزوی قلبی و استدعای من از درگاه خدا برای اسرائیل این است که ایشان نجات یابند.
- 2 من می توانم شهادت بدهم که آن ها نسبت به خدا با غیرت هستند اما تعصب آنها از روی معرفت نیست.
- 3 زیرا راهی را که خدا به وسیلۀ آن انسان را در حضور خود عادل می شمارد، نشناختند و کوشیدند راه خود شان را برای به دست آوردن عدالت درست جلوه دهند و به این دلیل تسلیم عدالت خدا نشدند،
- 4 زیرا مسیح هدف و تمام کنندۀ شریعت است برای هر که ایمان آورد و به این وسیله در حضور خدا عادل شمرده شود.
- 5 در مورد آن عدالت که از شریعت به دست می آید موسی می نویسد: «هرکه شریعت را به عمل آورد به وسیلۀ آن زیست خواهد کرد.»
- 6 اما دربارۀ عدالت که از راه ایمان به دست می آید می گوید: «در دل خود نگوئید کیست که به آسمان صعود کند؟» (تا مسیح را پائین آورد)
- 7 یا: «کیست که به جهان زیرین فرو رود؟» (تا مسیح را باز از میان مردگان بیرون آورد).
- 8 او می گوید: «کلام خدا (یعنی همان پیام ایمانی که ما اعلام می کنیم) نزدیک توست، آن در دهان و در قلب توست،»
- 9 زیرا اگر با زبان خود اقرار کنی که عیسی، خداوند است و در دل خود ایمان آوری که خدا او را پس از مرگ زنده ساخت، نجات می یابی.

- 10 زیرا انسان با دل ایمان می آورد و عادل شمرده می شود و با زبان خود اقرار می کند و نجات می یابد.
- 11 نوشته شده است: «هر که به او ایمان آورد هرگز خجل نخواهد شد.»
- 12 پس هیچ تفاوتی میان یهودیان و غیر یهودیان نیست زیرا خدای واحد، خداوند همه است و نسبت به همۀ کسانی که به او روی می آورند، بی اندازه بخشنده است؛
- 13 زیرا «هر کس که نام خداوند را بخواند، نجات می یابد.»

- 14 اما اگر به او ایمان نیاورده اند، چگونه می توانند به او روی آورند؟ و چگونه می توانند به کسی ایمان آورند که دربارۀ او چیزی نشنیده اند؟ و چگونه می توانند بدون حضور کسی که آن پیام را اعلام کند چیزی بشنوند؟
- 15 و آن ها چگونه می توانند پیام را اعلام کنند اگر برای این کار فرستاده نشده باشند؟ چنانکه نوشته شده است: «چه خوش است قدم های کسانی که بشارت می دهند.»
- 16 اما همه، آن بشارت را نپذیرفتند زیرا خود اشعیا می فرماید: «خداوندا چه کسی پیام ما را باور کرده است؟»
- 17 پس ایمان از شنیدن پیام پدید می آید و پیام ما کلام مسیح است.
- 18 اما می پرسم: «آیا ممکن است که آن ها پیام را نشنیده باشند؟ البته شنیده اند، زیرا صدای ایشان به سرتاسر جهان و سخن آن ها به دور افتاده ترین نقاط دنیا رسیده است.»
- 19 باز می پرسم: آیا قوم اسرائیل این را نمی دانست؟ پیش از همه موسی می گوید: «من به وسیلۀ کسانی که حتی قومی به شمار نمی آیند، حسادت شما را بر می انگیزم و توسط قومی نادان، شما را به خشم خواهم آورد.»
- 20 و اشعیا با جرأت بیشتر می گوید: «کسانی مرا یافتند که طالب من نبودند و خود را به کسانی ظاهر ساختم که جویای من نبودند.»
- 21 اما دربارۀ قوم اسرائیل می گوید: «تمام روز با آغوش باز منتظر بازگشت این قوم نافرمان و سرکش هستم.»
