Romans 11
- 1 پس می پرسم: آیا خدا قوم برگزیدۀ خود را رد کرده است؟ هرگز نه! خود من اسرائیلی و از نسل ابراهیم و از قبیلۀ بنیامین هستم.
- 2 خدا قومی را که از ابتدا برگزیده بود رد نکرده است. آیا نمی دانید دربارۀ الیاس چه نوشته شده است؟ وقتی الیاس بر ضد اسرائیل به خدا شکایت می کند، می گوید:
- 3 «خداوندا، انبیای تو را کشته اند و قربانگاه های تو را ویران ساخته اند و من تنها باقی مانده ام و اینک آنها قصد جان مرا دارند.»
- 4 اما خدا چه جوابی به او داد؟ او فرمود: «من هفت هزار مردی را که در پیش بتِ بعل زانو نزده اند برای خود نگاه داشته ام.»
- 5 پس همچنین در حال حاضر تعداد کمی که خدا بر اثر فیض خود برگزیده است، وجود دارند.
- 6 اگر این از فیض خداست، دیگر بسته به اعمال انسانی نیست و اما اگر به اعمال انسان مربوط است، دیگر فیض معنی نخواهد داشت.
- 7 پس مقصود چیست؟ مقصود اینست که قوم اسرائیل آنچه را که می طلبید نیافته است. برگزیدگان آن را یافتند و دیگران نسبت به آن بی اعتنا گردیدند،
- 8 چنانکه نوشته شده است: «خدا یک حالت بی حسی به ایشان داد، یعنی چشمانی که نمی بیند و گوش هائی که نمی شنود و حتی تا به امروز این حالت ادامه یافته است.»
- 9 و داود می گوید: «دسترخوان آن ها برای ایشان تله و دام و سنگ لغزش دهنده و عقوبت باد.
- 10 چشمان آنها تار گردد تا نبینند و پشت ایشان زیر بار ابدی خم شود.»
- 11 از شما می پرسم: آیا این لغزش یهودیان برای شکست کامل آن ها بود؟ هرگز نه، بلکه تا در اثر خطای آن ها نجات به غیر یهودیان برسد و این باعث رَشک و حسادت آنها شود.
- 12 حال اگر خطای آن ها موجب دولتمندی جهان و شکست ایشان موجب سعادتمندی ملتها گردیده است، گمان کنید این برکات چقدر بیشتر خواهد بود، هرگاه تعداد یهودیان به کمال برسد!
- 13 اکنون ای غیر یهودیان، روی سخن من با شماست و چون خود من رسولی برای غیر یهودیان هستم به مأموریت خویش افتخار می کنم.
- 14 شاید با این روش بتوانم حسادت قوم خود را برانگیزم و از این راه بعضی از آنها را نجات دهم،
- 15 زیرا اگر رد شدن آن ها موجب مصالحه جهان با خدا شد، برگشت آنها چه نتیجه ای جز رستاخیز از مردگان خواهد داشت؟
- 16 اگر اولین مشت خمیر تقدیس شده باشد بقیۀ آن نیز مقدس است و اگر ریشۀ درخت تقدیس شده باشد، شاخه هایش نیز مقدس می باشند.
- 17 اما اگر بعضی از شاخه ها بریده شده اند و تو که نهال زیتون وحشی بودی به جای آن ها پیوند شدی و در ریشه و چربی زیتون شریک گردیدی،
- 18 به برتری خود به شاخه های بریده شده فخر نکن و اگر فخر می کنی، بخاطر داشته باش که تو حامل ریشه نیستی، بلکه ریشه حامل توست.
- 19 اما تو خواهی گفت: «شاخه ها بریده شدند تا من پیوند گردم.»
- 20 درست است، ولی آن ها به علت بی ایمانی بریده شدند و تو به وسیلۀ ایمان در آن جا می مانی پس مغرور نباش، بلکه بترس.
- 21 زیرا اگر خدا از بریدن شاخه های طبیعی خودداری نکرد، از تو نیز صرف نظر نخواهد نمود.
- 22 پس مهربانی و سختگیری خدا را فراموش نکن. او نسبت به آنانی که دور افتاده اند سختگیر است اما نسبت به تو مهربان است به شرط اینکه در مهربانی او بمانی و گرنه تو نیز بریده خواهی شد.
- 23 اگر یهودیان نیز در بی ایمانی خود پافشاری نکنند دوباره پیوند خواهند شد، زیرا خدا قادر است که آنها را دوباره پیوند نماید.
- 24 زیرا اگر تو که از زیتون وحشی بریده شدی و به طور غیر طبیعی به زیتون اهلی پیوند گردیدی، چقدر آسانتر است که این شاخه ها به درخت هم جنس خود پیوند شوند.
- 25 ای برادران، برای اینکه شما گرفتار خود پسندی نشوید می خواهم حقیقتی را برای شما فاش سازم و آن این است که یک حالت بی حسی روحانی موقت قوم اسرائیل را فرا گرفته است تا آن زمانی که تعداد مردم ملتها که قبلاً معین شده اند تکمیل گردد.
- 26 و بعد تمام قوم اسرائیل نجات خواهند یافت. چنانکه نوشته شده است: «نجات دهنده از سهیون خواهد آمد و بی دینی را از خاندان یعقوب برخواهد داشت.»
- 27 «و در آن هنگام که گناهان شان را بر طرف سازم این پیمان را با آن ها خواهم بست.»
- 28 از لحاظ انجیل، یهودیان دشمنان خدا هستند و این به نفع شماست، اما از لحاظ انتخاب خدایی به خاطر اجداد شان هنوز محبوبند،
- 29 زیرا نعمت های خدا و دعوت او برگشت ناپذیر است.
- 30 ای غیر یهودیان، همان طور که شما زمانی نسبت به خدا نافرمان بودید ولی اکنون به سبب نافرمانی یهودیان رحمت یافته اید،
- 31 همچنین در حال حاضر آن ها یاغی هستند تا به وسیلۀ آن رحمتی که به شما رسیده است آن ها نیز از این به بعد رحمت یابند،
- 32 زیرا خدا تمام مردم را گرفتار «نافرمانی» کرده است تا بر همه رحم فرماید.
- 33 دولتمندی خدا چقدر عظیم و حکمت و معرفت او چقدر عمیق است! هدف های او غیر قابل درک و راه های او غیر قابل فهمند!

- 34 زیرا: «کیست که افکار خدا را درک نموده یا کیست که مشاور او بوده است.»
- 35 «چه کسی چیزی به خدا تقدیم کرده است تا آن را از او پس بگیرد؟»
- 36 زیرا سرچشمه و وسیله و مقصد همه چیز خداست. به او تا ابد جلال باد، آمین.
