Acts 8
- 1 Saul da İstefanos’un öldürülmesini onaylamıştı. O gün Kudüs’teki cemaate karşı şiddetli bir zulüm başladı. Havariler hariç, bütün müminler Yahudiye ve Samiriye kırsalının her yanına dağıldılar.
- 2 Bazı dindar kişiler İstefanos’un cenazesini kaldırdılar, onun için hüzünlendiler, yas tuttular.
- 3 Saul ise cemaati kırıp geçiriyordu. Ev ev dolaşıp kadın erkek demeden müminleri dışarı sürüklüyor, hapse atıyordu.
- 4 Dağılan müminler her yere gidip Allah’ın kelâmını müjdelediler.
- 5 Filipus, Samiriye şehrine gitti. Orada Mesih hakkında vaaz etti.
- 6 Kalabalıklar Filipus’un dediklerini işittiler, yaptığı alâmetleri gördüler. Söylediklerini can kulağıyla dinlediler.
- 7 Cinler birçoklarının içinden çığlık atarak çıktı; birçok felçli ve kötürüm şifa buldu.
- 8 Şehir halkı büyük sevinç içindeydi.
- 9 Şehirde büyücülük yapan Simun adında biri vardı. Samiriye halkını yaptığı büyülerle şaşkına çevirmişti. Kendisini önemli bir adammış gibi takdim ederdi.
- 10 En aşağı tabakadan en yükseğine, halkın her kesimi onu dikkatle dinlerdi, “Bu adamda Allah’ın kudreti var” derlerdi.
- 11 Onu dikkatle dinlerlerdi, çünkü uzun zamandan beri onları yaptığı büyülerle şaşırtmıştı.
- 12 Fakat Filipus onlara Allah’ın Hükümranlığı’nı ve İsa’nın Mesih olduğunu müjdeleyince ona inandılar. Kadın-erkek vaftiz oldular.

- 13 Simun da inanıp vaftiz oldu. Ondan sonra devamlı Filipus’un yanında kaldı. Yapılan harikaları ve mucizeleri görünce şaşakaldı.
- 14 Kudüs’teki havariler Samiriye halkının Allah’ın kelâmını kabul ettiğini duydular. Bunun üzerine Petrus’la Yuhanna’yı onlara gönderdiler.
- 15 Petrus’la Yuhanna oraya varınca Samiriyeli müminlerin Mukaddes Ruh’u alması için dua ettiler.
- 16 Çünkü Ruh daha hiçbirinin üzerine inmemişti. Sadece Rab İsa’nın adıyla vaftiz olmuşlardı.
- 17 Sonra Petrus’la Yuhanna müminlere dokunup takdis ettiler; müminler de Mukaddes Ruh’u aldılar.
- 18 Havarilerin takdisiyle Mukaddes Ruh’un verildiğini gören Simun onlara para teklif etti.
- 19 “Bana da bu gücü verin ki, kime dokunup takdis edersem Mukaddes Ruh’u alsın” dedi.
- 20 Petrus ona şöyle dedi: “Paran seninle birlikte yok olsun! Çünkü Allah’ın mevhibesini parayla satın alabileceğini sandın.
- 21 Senin bu işte bir payın yok. Allah’ın nazarında yüreğin temiz değildir.
- 22 Bu kötü niyetinden tövbe et ve Rab’be yakar. Belki yüreğindeki bu düşünceyi bağışlar.
- 23 Görüyorum ki, aşırı kıskanç ve günaha esir birisin.”
- 24 Simun, “Benim için Rab’be dua edin, söylediklerinizin hiçbiri başıma gelmesin” dedi.
- 25 Petrus’la Yuhanna Rab’bin yaptıklarına nasıl şahit olduklarını halka anlattılar, Rab’bin kelâmını bildirdiler. Samiriye’nin birçok köyünde kurtuluş müjdesini duyurarak Kudüs’e döndüler.
- 26 Bu arada Rab’bin bir meleği Filipus’a, “Kalk, öğleye doğru Kudüs’le Gazze arasındaki yola, kır yoluna git” dedi.
- 27 Filipus da kalkıp gitti. Yolda Etiyopyalı bir hadıma rastladı. Etiyopya Kraliçesi Kandake’nin vezirlerinden biriydi. Kraliçenin bütün hazinesinden sorumluydu. Kudüs’e Allah’a ibadet etmek için gitmişti.
- 28 Dönüşte at arabasında oturmuş Peygamber Yeşaya’nın kitabını okuyordu.
- 29 Mukaddes Ruh Filipus’a, “Git şu arabaya yetiş” dedi.
- 30 Filipus koşup arabanın yanına vardı. Vezirin Peygamber Yeşaya’nın kitabından okumakta olduğunu duydu. “Acaba okuduklarını anlıyor musun?” diye sordu.
- 31 Vezir, “Biri bana açıklamadan nasıl anlayabilirim ki?” dedi; Filipus’un arabaya binip yanına oturmasını istedi.
- 32 Kitaptan okuduğu bölüm şuydu: ‘Koyun gibi kesime götürüldü. Kırkılan kuzu gibi sessizdi. Ağzından bir söz çıkmadı.
- 33 Aşağılandı, haksızca yargılandı. Kim O’nun soyundan bahsedecek ki? Çünkü yeryüzündeki yaşamına son verildi.’
- 34 Vezir Filipus’a, “Lütfen bana söyler misin, peygamber kimden söz ediyor? Kendisinden mi yoksa başka birinden mi?” diye sordu.
- 35 Bunun üzerine Filipus anlatmaya başladı. Tevrat’ın bu bölümünden başlayarak vezire İsa’yı müjdeledi.
- 36 Yolda giderlerken su bulunan bir yere geldiler. Vezir şöyle dedi: “Bak, burada su var. Vaftiz olmama ne engel var ki?”
- 37 Yolda giderlerken su bulunan bir yere geldiler. Vezir şöyle dedi: “Bak, burada su var. Vaftiz olmama ne engel var ki?”
  One must believe that Jesus Christ in the Son of God to be baptized. The hindrance is unbelief.
- 38 Sonra arabanın durmasını emretti. Filipus’la birlikte suya girdiler. Filipus veziri vaftiz etti.
  Eunuch believed and was baptized, they went into the water (submersion).
- 39 Sudan çıkınca Rab’bin Ruhu Filipus’u çabucak uzaklaştırdı. Vezir Filipus’u bir daha görmedi, sevinç içinde yoluna devam etti.
- 40 Filipus ise kendini Aşdod şehrinde buldu. Sezariye şehrine varıncaya kadar bütün şehirleri dolaşarak kurtuluş müjdesini yaydı.
