Sirach 24
- 1 Vijfde reeks. De wijsheid en onze verhouding tot anderen. Inleiding. Het hooglied der wijsheid. De wijsheid gaat zichzelve prijzen, Te midden van haar volk zich roemen.
- 2 Zij opent haar mond in de gemeente van den Allerhoogste, En gaat zich verheffen voor zijn heirschaar; Bij het uitverkoren volk gaat zij zich loven, En onder de gezegenden zich verheerlijken:
- 3 “Uit de mond des Allerhoogsten kwam ik voort, En bedekte de aarde als een nevel;
- 4 In de hoogten had ik mijn woontent, Op de wolkenzuil mijn troon.
- 5 Ik alleen doorliep de kring des hemels, En wandelde in de diepten van de afgrond;
- 6 Over de golven der zee en heel de aarde, In iedere stam en volk toonde zich mijn macht.
- 7 Bij die allen zocht ik een rustplaats, Een erfdeel, waar ik kon blijven.
- 8 Toen gaf de Schepper van het heelal mij zijn bevel; Hij, die mij vormde, wees mijn tent een plaats, En sprak: “In Jakob zal uw woontent zijn, In Israël uw erfdeel.”
- 9 Vóór de eeuwen, van de aanvang af door Hem gevormd, Blijf ik tot in eeuwigheid bestaan.
- 10 In de heilige tent deed ik dienst voor zijn aanschijn, En kreeg ik op de Sion vaste voet;
- 11 Hij deed mij wonen in zijn geliefde stad, En vestigde in Jerusalem mijn heerschappij.
- 12 Zo schoot ik wortel in een roemvol volk, In het erfdeel van Jahweh, midden in zijn bezit.
- 13 Ik rees omhoog als een ceder op de Libanon, Als een cypres op de berg Hermon;
- 14 Ik schoot op als een palm in En-Gédi, Als rozenstruiken in Jericho, Als een schone olijf op het veld, En groot werd ik als een plataan.
- 15 Ik geurde als kaneel en muskaat, Verspreidde zoete reuk als kostelijke mirre, Als hars of nagelen en balsem, Als de geur van wierook in de Tent.
- 16 Ik strekte als een terebint mijn takken uit, En mijn twijgen waren vol schoonheid en pracht;
- 17 Als een wijnstok schoot ik frisse loten, En mijn bloesem gaf heerlijke en rijke vrucht.
- 18 Ik ben de moeder van de schone liefde, Van de godsvrucht, de kennis en de heilige hoop; In mij is alle genade van leven en waarheid, In mij alle hoop op leven en deugd.
- 19 Komt tot mij, gij die mij begeert, En verzadigt u aan mijn vruchten.
- 20 Aan mij te denken is zoeter dan honing, Mij te bezitten gaat boven honingraat uit;
- 21 Wie mij eten, blijven naar mij hongeren, Wie mij drinken, dorsten naar meer.
- 22 Wie naar mij luistert, wordt nimmer te schande, En wie zich om mij beijveren, zondigen niet.”
- 23 Dit alles is het Verbondsboek van den Allerhoogste, De wet, die Moses gaf als erfgoed voor Jakobs gemeenten;
- 25 Die wijsheid geeft, overvloedig als de Pisjon, Als de Tigris in de dagen der eerstelingen;
- 26 Die inzicht verleent, zo vol als de Eufraat, Als de Jordaan in de dagen van de oogst.
- 27 Die kennis doet stromen als de Nijl, Als de Gichon in de tijd van de wijnoogst.
- 28 Geen eerste heeft haar kunnen doorgronden, Geen laatste heeft haar doorvorst;
- 29 Want rijker dan de zee is haar inhoud, Rijker dan de grote Oceaan haar zin.
- 30 En ik kwam als een zijtak uit die stroom, Als een kanaal, dat een lusthof bevloeit.
- 31 Ik sprak: “Drenken wil ik mijn hof, En besproeien mijn weide.” En zie, mijn zijtak wies tot een stroom, En mijn stroom tot een zee.
- 32 Nog meer wil ik wijsheid doen stralen als de morgen, En tot in de verte ze doen lichten;
- 33 Verder nog de onderrichting als een profetie laten stromen, En ze achterlaten voor verre geslachten.
- 34 Ziet, ik zwoeg niet voor mijzelf alleen, Maar ook voor allen, die haar zoeken.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
