- 1 انسان نقشه های زیادی می کشد، اما نتیجۀ نهائی آن ها در دست خدا است.
- 2 تمام کارهای انسان بنظر خودش درست است، ولی انگیزه ها را خداوند می بیند.
- 3 نقشه های خود را به دست خداوند بسپار، آنگاه در کارهایت موفق خواهی شد.
- 4 خداوند برای هر چیزی سرنوشتی تعیین کرده است و سرنوشت مردم بدکار تباهی است.
- 5 خداوند از اشخاص متکبر نفرت دارد و هرگز اجازه نمی دهد که آن ها از مجازات او فرار کنند.
- 6 مهر و وفا داشته باش، خدا گناهت را می بخشد. از خداوند بترس و بدی به تو نمی رسد.
- 7 وقتی کسی خدا را خوشنود می سازد، خدا کاری می کند که حتی دشمنان آن شخص هم با او آشتی و مصالحه نمایند.
- 8 مال کم که از راه صحیح به دست آمده باشد، بهتر است از ثروت هنگفتی که از راه غلط فراهم شده باشد.
- 9 انسان در فکر خود نقشه ها می کشد، اما خدا او را در انجام آن ها هدایت می کند.
- 10 فرمان پادشاه مانند وحی قاطع است، پس او نباید در قضاوت اشتباه کند.
- 11 خداوند می خواهد که در معاملات تان از ترازو و اوزان درست استفاده کنید. این اصل را خداوند برقرار کرده است.
- 12 پادشاهان نباید ظلم کنند، زیرا تخت سلطنت بر اساس عدالت استوار می ماند.

- 13 پادشاهان، اشخاص راستگو را دوست دارند و از وجود آن ها خوشنود می شوند.
- 14 خشم پادشاه پیام آور مرگ است، اما مرد عاقل آن را فرو می نشاند.
- 15 خوشی و رضایت پادشاه مانند ابر بهاری است که حیات به ارمغان می آورد.
- 16 کسب حکمت بهتر است از اندوختن طلا و نقره.

- 17 راه مردم خدا شناس دور از هر نوع بدی است و هر که در این راه قدم بردارد، جان خود را حفظ خواهد کرد.
- 18 نتیجۀ غرور هلاکت است و تکبر به سقوط می انجامد.
- 19 بهتر است انسان متواضع باشد و با مردم ستمدیده بنشیند از اینکه با اشخاص متکبر باشد و در غنایم آن ها شریک شود.
- 20 آنهائی که از کلام خدا اطاعت می کنند، سعادتمند می شوند و کسانی که بر او توکل نمایند، برکت می یابند.
- 21 مرد دانا را از روی فهمش می شناسند و سخنان دلنشین او تأثیر زیادی دارند.
- 22 حکمت برای کسانی که از آن برخوردارند، چشمۀ حیات است، ولی حماقت برای مردم نادان مجازات ببار می آورد.
- 23 سخنان شخص دانا عاقلانه است و تعالیمی که او می دهد، مؤثر می باشد.
- 24 سخنان محبت آمیز مثل عسل شیرین است و شفای بدن انسان می باشد.
- 25 راههائی هستند که بنظر انسان راست می آیند، اما عاقبت به مرگ منتهی می شوند.
- 26 گرسنگی خوب است، زیرا ترا وادار می سازد تا برای رفع آن کار کنی.
- 27 آدم بدکار نقشه های پلید می کشد و شرارت لبهایش مثل آتشِ سوزنده است.
- 28 شخص بد اندیش نزاع برپا می کند و آدم سخن چین بهترین دوستان خود را از هم جدا می سازد.
- 29 شخص ظالم همسایۀ خود را فریب می دهد و او را به راه غلط می کشاند.
- 30 چشمان خود را می بندد تا دروغ را اختراع نماید و لبهای خود را حرکت می دهد تا شرارت را انجام دهد.
- 31 عمر طولانی هدیه ای است که به مردم نیک داده می شود و موی سفید تاج جمال آن ها است.
- 32 صبر از قدرت بهتر است و شخصی که بر نفس خود اراده دارد از کسی که شهر را تسخیر نماید برتر است.
- 33 انسان قرعه می اندازد، اما حکم آن را خدا تعیین می کند.
