- 6 بهتر است که انسان فقیر و راستکار باشد، تا اینکه ثروتمند و فریبکار.
- 7 جوانی که از قانون اطاعت می کند، عاقل است، اما کسی که همنشین مردم شریر و بدکار است، باعث ننگ پدر خود می شود.
- 8 مالی که از راه سودخوری و منفعت جوئی از فقرا حاصل شود، عاقبت به دست کسی می افتد که بر فقرا رحم می کند.
- 9 خدا از دعای کسانی که احکام او را اطاعت نمی کنند، نفرت دارد.

- 10 هر که دام بر راه شخص راستکار بنهد و او را براه بد بکشاند، عاقبت به دام خود گرفتار می شود، اما اشخاص نیک پاداش خوبی می گیرند.
- 11 ثروتمندان خود را عاقل می پندارند، اما فقیر خردمند از واقعیت باطن آن ها باخبر است.
- 12 وقتی مردمان نیک پیروز می شوند، همه خوشی می کنند، اما هنگامی که بدکاران به قدرت می رسند، مردم مخفی می شوند.
- 13 هر که گناه خود را بپوشاند، هرگز کامیاب نمی شود، اما کسی که به گناه خود اعتراف کند و از آن دست بکشد، خدا بر او رحم می کند.
- 14 خوشا بحال کسی که از خداوند می ترسد، زیرا هر که در برابر خدا سرسختی نشان بدهد، گرفتار بلا و بدبختی می شود.
- 15 مردم بیچاره ای که زیر سلطۀ حاکم ظالمی زندگی می کنند، مانند کسانی می باشند که گرفتار شیر غران و یا خرس گرسنه هستند.
- 16 پادشاه نادان بر مردم ظلم می کند، اما آن پادشاهی که از بی عدالتی و رشوه خوری نفرت داشته باشد، سلطنتش طولانی خواهد بود.

- 17 عذابِ وجدان شخص قاتل، او را بسوی مجازات می برد، پس تو سعی نکن که او را از عذابش برهانی.
- 18 هر که در راه راست ثابت قدم باشد، در امان می ماند، اما کسی که به راههای کج برود، به زمین می خورد.
- 19 هر که در زمین خود زراعت کند، نان کافی خواهد داشت، اما کسی که وقت خود را به تنبلی بگذراند، فقر گریبانگیر او می شود.
- 20 اشخاص راستکار کامیاب می شوند، ولی کسانی که برای ثروتمند شدن عجله می کنند، بی سزا نمی مانند.
- 21 طرفداری، کار درستی نیست، اما قضاتی هم هستند که بخاطر یک لقمه نان بی عدالتی می کنند.
- 22 آدم خسیس فقط به فکر جمع آوری ثروت است، غافل از اینکه فقر در انتظار او است.
- 23 اگر اشتباه کسی را به او گوشزد کنی، در آخر بیشتر از کسی که پیش او چاپلوسی کرده است، از تو قدردانی خواهد کرد.

- 24 کسی که از والدین خود دزدی می کند و می گوید: «کار بدی نکرده ام»، از یک دزد کمتر نیست.
- 25 حرص و طمع باعث جنگ و جدال می شود، اما توکل نمودن بر خداوند انسان را کامیاب می سازد.
- 26 کسی که از عقاید خود پیروی می کند، احمق است، اما هر که پیرو حکمت باشد، در امان می ماند.

- 27 اگر به فقرا کمک کنی، هرگز محتاج نمی شوی، اما اگر روی خود را از آن ها برگردانی، مورد لعنت قرار می گیری.
