- 1 Fısıh Bayramı arifesiydi. İsa dünyadan ayrılıp semavî Baba Allah’a döneceği zamanın geldiğini biliyordu. Bu dünyada kendisine iman edenleri ezelden ebede kadar sevdi.
- 2 İsa şakirtleriyle birlikte akşam yemeği yiyordu. Bunlardan biri, Simun İskariyot’un oğlu Yahuda’ydı. Şeytan, Yahuda’nın yüreğine İsa’ya ihanet etme niyetini koymuştu bile.
- 3 Semavî Baba Allah İsa’ya her şeyin üzerinde yetki vermiştir. İsa bunu biliyordu. Ayrıca, kendisinin Allah’tan geldiğini ve Allah’a geri döneceğini de biliyordu.
- 4 Bu sebeple yemek sırasında sofradan kalktı ve üstlüğünü çıkardı. Bir havlu alıp beline doladı.
- 5 Sonra leğene su doldurdu, şakirtlerinin ayaklarını yıkadı, beline doladığı havluyla kuruladı.
- 6 Sıra Simun Petrus’a geldi. Petrus O’na, “Olmaz Efendimiz, sen mi ayaklarımı yıkayacaksın?” dedi.
- 7 İsa Petrus’a, “Şimdi ne yaptığımı bilmiyorsun. Fakat daha sonra anlayacaksın” diye karşılık verdi.
- 8 Petrus, “Hayır! Benim ayaklarımı asla yıkamayacaksın” dedi. İsa, “Eğer yıkamazsam benim yanımda yerin olamaz” dedi.
- 9 Petrus İsa’ya, “Efendimiz, öyleyse sadece ayaklarımı değil, ellerimi ve başımı da yıka!” dedi.
- 10 İsa ona şöyle dedi: “Bir kimse yıkanmışsa temizdir. Ayaklarının yıkanmasından başka ihtiyacı yoktur. Sizler temizsiniz, fakat hepiniz değil.”
- 11 İsa kendisine kimin ihanet edeceğini biliyordu. “Hepiniz temiz değilsiniz” demesinin sebebi buydu.
- 12 İsa şakirtlerinin ayaklarını yıkadıktan sonra üstünü giydi, yeniden sofraya oturdu. Şakirtlerine, “Bunu neden yaptığımı anladınız mı?” diye sordu.
- 13 “Siz bana, ‘Hocamız’, ‘Efendimiz’ diye hitap ediyorsunuz. Doğru söylüyorsunuz, çünkü öyleyim.
- 14 Ben Efendiniz ve Hocanız olduğum halde ayaklarınızı yıkıyorsam, sizler de birbirinizin ayaklarını yıkamalısınız.
- 15 Bunu size örnek olmak için yaptım. Siz de başkalarına, benim size hizmet ettiğim gibi hizmet edin.
- 16 Emin olun, köle efendisinden üstün değildir. Elçi de kendisini gönderenden üstün değildir.
- 17 Artık bunları biliyorsunuz. Yerine getirirseniz ne mutlu size!”
- 18 “Hepiniz için söylemiyorum. Ben seçtiklerimi bilirim. Fakat Zebur’da yazılı olan ‘Ekmeğimi yiyen kişi bana ihanet etti’ sözü yerine gelmelidir.
- 19 Bunları size önceden bildiriyorum. Ben ezelden beri varım. Bunlar gerçekleştiğinde bana iman edesiniz diye söylüyorum.
- 20 Emin olun, benim gönderdiğim herhangi bir kişiyi kabul eden, beni kabul etmiş olur. Beni kabul eden de beni gönderen semavî Baba Allah’ı kabul etmiş olur.”
- 21 İsa bunları söyledikten sonra yüreğinde büyük bir sıkıntı duydu. Şakirtlerine açıkça, “Size şunu söyleyeyim, sizlerden biri bana ihanet edecek” dedi.
- 22 Şakirtler birbirlerine bakakaldılar. İsa’nın kimden söz ettiğini merak ediyorlardı.
- 23 Şakirtlerden biri, sofrada İsa’nın yanı başında oturuyordu. İsa onu çok severdi.
- 24 Simun Petrus bu şakirde, İsa’nın kimden söz ettiğini sorması için işaret etti.
- 25 O da İsa’ya iyice yaklaştı, “Efendimiz, kimdir o?” diye sordu.
- 26 İsa şöyle cevap verdi: “Ekmeği sahana batırıp kime verirsem, odur.” Sonra ekmeği sahana batırıp Simun İskariyot’un oğlu Yahuda’ya verdi.
- 27 Yahuda ekmeği alır almaz Şeytan içine girdi. İsa Yahuda’ya, “Yapacağını tez yap!” dedi.
- 28 Sofradakilerin hiçbiri İsa’nın Yahuda’ya neden böyle dediğini anlamadılar.
- 29 Para kesesi Yahuda’da duruyordu. Bu yüzden bazıları İsa’nın ona, “Bayram için gerekli şeyleri al” ya da “Yoksullara sadaka ver” demek istediğini sandılar.
- 30 Yahuda, İsa’nın kendisine verdiği ekmeği yedi. Sonra hemen çıkıp gitti. Gece olmuştu.
- 31 Yahuda gittikten sonra İsa şunları söyledi: “Semavi İnsan’ın ölüp dirileceği ve semavî Baba Allah’ın yanına yükseltileceği zaman gelmiş bulunuyor. Allah da O’nun sayesinde yüceltilecek.
- 32 Allah İnsanoğlu sayesinde yüceltilince Allah da O’nu yüceltecek. Ve bunu hemen yapacak.
- 33 Yavrularım, kısa bir süre daha sizinleyim. Beni arayacaksınız. Fakat Yahudi önderlere daha önce söylediğim gibi şimdi size de söylüyorum, siz benim gideceğim yere gelemezsiniz.
- 34 Size yeni bir emir veriyorum: Birbirinizi sevin. Birbirinizi benim sizi sevdiğim gibi sevin.
- 35 Birbirinizi severseniz herkes benim şakirtlerim olduğunuzu anlayacaktır.”
- 36 Simun Petrus, “Efendimiz, nereye gidiyorsun?” diye sordu. İsa, “Gideceğim yere şimdi peşimden gelemezsin. Fakat daha sonra geleceksin” diye cevap verdi.
- 37 Petrus, “Efendimiz, neden şimdi peşinden gelemeyeyim? Senin için ölmeye bile hazırım!” dedi.
- 38 İsa, “Benim için ölmeye bile hazır olduğunu söylüyorsun; fakat emin ol, horoz ötmeden önce beni tanıdığını üç kez inkâr edeceksin” diye cevap verdi.
