- 5 Allah şöyle dedi: ‘Bu sebeple adam annesini babasını bırakacak, karısıyla birleşecek, ikisi tek beden olacak.’
- 6 Onlar artık iki değil, tek bedendir. O halde Allah’ın birleştirdiğini hiç kimse ayırmasın.”
- 7 Ferisiler İsa’ya, “Madem öyle” dediler, “Musa neden boşanma belgesi vermek şartıyla erkeğin karısını boşayabileceğini söyledi?”
- 8 İsa onlara, “Musa inatçılığınız yüzünden buna müsaade etti” dedi. “Fakat başlangıçta böyle bir şey yoktu.
- 9 Size şunu söyleyeyim, cinsel ahlâksızlıktan başka bir sebeple karısını boşayıp başka kadınla evlenen zina etmiş olur.”
- 10 Şakirtler İsa’ya, “Karı koca arasındaki ilişki buysa, bekâr kalmak daha iyi!” dediler.
- 11 İsa onlara şöyle dedi: “Herkes dediklerimi kabul edemez. Ancak Allah’ın nasip ettiği kişiler bunu yapabilir.
- 12 Çünkü bazısı doğuştan hadımdır, kimisi sonradan hadım edilir, bazısı da Semavî Hükümranlık uğruna kendini hadım sayar. Bunu kabul edebilen etsin!”
- 13 Bazı kişiler küçük çocuklarını İsa’ya getirdiler. Onlara dokunmasını, takdis etmesini istediler. Fakat şakirtleri onları engellemeye çalıştı.
- 14 İsa, “Bırakın çocukları” dedi. “Bana gelmelerine engel olmayın! Çünkü Semavî Hükümranlık bu çocuklar gibi saf olan insanlara aittir.”
- 15 Çocukları takdis ettikten sonra oradan ayrıldı.
- 16 Bir adam İsa’ya geldi ve sordu: “Hocam, ebedî hayata sahip olmak için nasıl bir iyilik yapmalıyım?”

- 17 İsa ona şu cevabı verdi: “İyiliği neden bana soruyorsun? İyi olan yalnız Allah’tır. Ebedî hayata sahip olmak istiyorsan Allah’ın emirlerini yerine getir.”
- 18 Adam, “Hangi emirleri?” diye sordu. Bunun üzerine İsa şöyle dedi: “‘Adam öldürme, zina etme, hırsızlık yapma, yalan yere şahitlik etme,
- 19 annene babana hürmet et’ ve ‘komşunu kendini sevdiğin gibi sev.’”
- 20 Genç adam, “Bütün bunları yerine getiriyorum. Daha ne eksiğim var?” dedi.
- 21 İsa ona, “Eğer kâmil biri olmak istiyorsan, git her şeyini sat, parayı fakirlere dağıt. Böylece semada hazinen olur. Sonra da gel, beni takip et” dedi.
- 22 Genç adam bu sözleri işitince üzüntü içinde oradan ayrıldı. Çünkü çok zengindi.
- 23 İsa şakirtlerine şöyle dedi: “Emin olun, zenginler Semavî Hükümranlığa zor girer!
- 24 Tekrar söyleyeyim, devenin iğne deliğinden geçmesi, zenginin Allah’ın Hükümranlığı’na girmesinden daha kolaydır.”
- 25 Şakirtleri bunu duyunca çok şaşırdılar. “Öyleyse kim kurtulabilir?” diye sordular.
- 26 İsa onlara baktı, “İnsan için bu imkânsız, fakat Allah için her şey mümkündür” dedi.
- 27 Petrus İsa’ya, “Bak, biz her şeyimizi bırakıp senin peşinden geldik. Bunun karşılığında neyimiz olacak?” dedi.
- 28 İsa onlara şöyle dedi: “Emin olun, bir devir gelecek, her şey yenilenecek. O zaman ben İnsanoğlu olarak ihtişam içinde tahta oturacağım. Benim peşimden gelen sizler de on iki tahtta oturacaksınız. İsrail’in on iki aşiretine hükmedeceksiniz.
- 29 Benim uğruma evini, kardeşlerini, ana babasını ya da mal mülkünü feda eden herkes, bunların yüz katını alacak, ebedî hayata sahip olacak.
- 30 Fakat şimdi birinci olan birçok kişi sonuncu, sonuncu olan birçok kişi birinci olacak.”
