- 5 Bazı kişiler mabedi göstererek, “Ne güzel taşlarla ve adaklarla süslenmiş!” dediler.
- 6 İsa, “Gün gelecek, burada gördüğünüz her şey yıkılacak. Taş üstünde taş kalmayacak” dedi.
- 7 Onlar da, “Hocam, bu dediklerin ne zaman olacak? Bunların olacağını gösteren alâmet ne?” diye sordular.
- 8 İsa şöyle dedi: “Dikkat edin! Kimse sizi aldatmasın. Birçokları ortaya çıkıp benim adımı kullanacaklar. ‘Ben Mesih’im’ ve, ‘Vakit yaklaştı’ diyecekler. Onların peşine takılmayın!
- 9 Savaş ve isyan haberleri duyunca telaşlanmayın. Önce bunların olması lazımdır. Fakat bu, henüz her şeyin sonu değildir.”
- 10 Sonra şunları ekledi: “Millet millete, devlet devlete savaş açacak.
- 11 Yer yer şiddetli depremler, kıtlıklar ve salgın hastalıklar baş gösterecek. Korkunç olaylar olacak, gökte olağanüstü alâmetler görünecek.
- 12 “Fakat bütün bunlar olmadan önce insanlar sizi yakalayıp zulmedecekler. Sizi mahkûm etmek için havralara teslim edecekler, zindanlara atacaklar; hükümdarların, valilerin önüne sürükleyecekler. Bütün bunlar şakirtlerim olduğunuz için başınıza gelecek.
- 13 Fakat bu sayede bana şahitlik edeceksiniz.
- 14 O durumlarda sakın ‘Kendimizi nasıl savunacağız?’ diye düşünmeyin.
- 15 Ben size hitabet gücü ve hikmet vereceğim; hasımlarınız buna karşı koyamayacak, bir şey diyemeyecek.
- 16 Anne babanız, kardeşleriniz, akrabalarınız ve arkadaşlarınız bile size ihanet edip bazılarınızı öldürtecekler.
- 17 Şakirtlerim olduğunuz için herkes sizden nefret edecek.
- 18 Fakat saçınızın tek bir teline bile zarar gelmeyecek.
- 19 Sabrederek canlarınızı kurtaracaksınız.”
- 20 “Kudüs’ün ordular tarafından kuşatıldığını gördüğünüzde bilin ki, şehrin yıkımı yaklaşmıştır.
- 21 O zaman Yahudiye’de olanlar dağlara kaçsın. Kudüs’tekiler de oradan ayrılsın. Kırda olanlar şehre dönmesin.
- 22 O günler peygamberlerin yazdıklarının yerine geleceği, Allah’ın bu halkı cezalandıracağı günlerdir.
- 23 O günlerde hamile olan ya da çocuk emziren kadınların vay haline! Çünkü ülke çok sıkıntılı günler yaşayacak. Bu halk Allah’ın gazabına uğrayacak.
- 24 Halkın bir bölümü kılıçtan geçirilecek, diğerleri de esir alınıp milletler arasına dağıtılacak. Kudüs yabancıların işgali sona erene kadar onların ayakları altında çiğnenecek.
- 25 “Güneşte, ayda ve yıldızlarda şaşılacak alâmetler görülecek. Bütün yeryüzündeki milletler denizin uğultusu ve dalgaların çarpmasıyla altüst olup şaşkına dönecekler.
- 26 İnsanlar dünyanın başına gelecek felâketleri beklerken korkudan bayılacak. Çünkü semavî kudretler sarsılacak.
- 27 O zaman İnsanoğlu’nun bulutlarla, büyük kudret ve ihtişamla geldiğini görecekler.
- 28 Bunlar yerine gelmeye başladığında dik durup başınızı kaldırın, yılmayın. Çünkü kurtuluşunuz yakındır.”
- 29 Sonra İsa onlara şu misali anlattı: “İncir ağacına ya da herhangi bir ağaca bakın.
- 30 Ağaçlar yapraklanınca yaz mevsiminin yaklaştığını anlarsınız.
- 31 Aynı şekilde bu olaylar olduğunda bilin ki, Allah’ın Hükümranlığı yakındır.
- 32 Emin olun, bütün bu şeyler olmadan bu nesil yok olmayacak.
- 33 Yer ve gök ortadan kalkacak, fakat benim sözlerim asla ortadan kalkmayacaktır.”
- 34 “Kendinize dikkat edin. Sefahate, sarhoşluğa ve bu hayatın kaygılarına kapılmayın. Kıyamet günü sizi beklenmedik bir anda tuzak gibi yakalamasın.
- 35 Çünkü o gün bütün yeryüzünde yaşayan herkesin üzerine gelecektir.
- 36 Bu yüzden her an tetikte olun. Bütün bu olacakları atlatmak ve İnsanoğlu’nun huzuruna cesaretle çıkabilmek için dua edin.”
- 37 İsa gündüzleri mabet alanında vaaz ediyordu, geceleri ise şehirden ayrılıp Zeytin Dağı’nda konaklıyordu.
- 38 Halk da sabah erkenden mabette İsa’yı dinlemeye gidiyordu.
